I have the same issue with the cracked screen. I just contacted fitbit and they won't replace because it's not in the warranty time (I've had it for just shy of two years). So disappointing since it really seems to be a manufacturing issue. They've offered me a discount to purchase a new one but I won't be doing that since I expect my purchases to last longer than two years or at very least I expect to be able to repair rather than replace.

My display stopped working after I set it on top of my cable box. It showed lines at first, now it's black. I tried resetting litmus but no results. Still tracks, but it's useless as a watch. I think its tracking is deteriorating too. Got it Christmas of 2017, so it's less than two years old. Can't ditbit refurbish these things? I'm disabled and on limited income. I can barely afford my copays for medical support, pills, and other stuff I need. No way in Hello I'm going to buy a 3, just to have it fail 9 months out of warranty

Personally believe that Fitbit could do a refurbishmsent but clearly thay are choosing to only offer a minuscule discount on a new purchase. Unacceptable I believe.
Now with Google apparently buying Fitbit it’s anyone’s guess if they will ever improve their position. Does not look good.

Yes, very frustrating and it seems quite common.
My display still works but the screen has a crack in it that appeared out
of nowhere one day. I used to recommend Fitbit to others but after this
experience I won't. I expect a product to last more than a year if it's
cared for well and I also expect to be able to fix things instead of just
throwing them out especially in my case because the defect hasn't affected
functionality... it just looks ugly and it's annoying.

I had to upgrade to the Fitbit charge 3. The company only gave me a 25% discount. I am happy with the 3 but it was unfair to not replace the 2 when they knew that the have a manufacturing defect.

I did upgrade to the charge 3, and hopefully this will not fail. I think the charge 3 is a big improvement over the charge 2. The screen is much stronger and the sleek design looks much better on my wrist. The band is much easier to change. It looks like the learned a lot from the failures of the charge 2. Unfortunately I am our over $110.00 and I have an old cracked ugly watch that still works.

You are correct, I now have the charge 3 and if this one goes bad I will switch to the Apple watch. As I said before, I am out $110.00
And I have a workable charge two with a an ugly cracked face. So I cannot wear the watch.

same story with mine, use it daily but no contact / demanding things. crack develops and have just contacted the service team. hubs is not happy as he bought it as a surprise and it isn't even 18 mths old. looks like we are getting apple watches for Xmas. such a shame that the company isn't standing behind their customers and doing more then offering a discount considering t seems to be a WORLDWIDE issue.

Same with me - got it Christmas 2017... If only we were in Europe where the warranty appears to be for 2 years

Did you get any replacement out of the warranty period?

I still wear mine with the cracked screen. The watch still works so I’ll be **ahem**ed if I’ll give them any more money to get a new one. 25%discount is no big deal in my book.

It hasn't impacted functionality, but wait, there are other issues that
might. Search on the forum for Charge 2 and solid green lights, no HR
measurement. Some people keep it working by punching the sensor lights
out. Mine completely died when I put it in the charger to try and do a
reset.

Oddly enough for a fitness tracker, that problem seems to be triggered by a
combination of high heat, sweat, and maybe sunscreen. That seems to be a
common thread for several that have had the solid green light issue.

We need to stick together and seek a much more equitable solution.
Even if it means making sure Google, the potential buyer of Fitbit, is aware of this disgrace.

I had exactly this response and I could not agree more with your comment. I was given my Charge 2 as a gift from a friend although I was already sceptical about the products as my previous Fitbit died in no time - the battery just gave up! 25% off definitely doesn't encourage me to buy another product after two products with two different issues.

Fitbit already had a problem with the Fitbit Force, which they recalled. The Charge screen cracks are caused by the pressure from the charger clamp. I owned several Charge trackers and after awhile the screens became weak in 2 places, so I purchased an aftermarket Epuly dock charger. Now I have no problems with screens since I replaced them. I purchased replacement screens online.
