Just had a great experience with customer service.  After a 10 minute call and sending a pick of my cracked Charge 2 screen they offered a replacement at no cost.  I decided on the other option that is upgrading to a charge 3 for 50% off. Very impressed with the service.

Maximus, how old was your device? Still in warranty? I'd expect that
service if it was but most of us have had issues that happen right after
warranty ends and the response has been typically limited to a fake 25% off
discount. I say fake because it usually works out to being almost what
they're normal periodic sale prices are. If they were stackable, that
would be cook, but they're not.

It was way past warranty period. They did not fight it at all. I was pleasantly surprised especially after reading other comments on here. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy , an AT&T LTE smartphone

That is very suppressing, you are one of the first ones that Fitbit has helped who was out of warranty.  Maybe the pressure is causing them to admit their problems.  It may be a little to late for many who were screwed over and have moved on to a better monitor.  I did and won’t ever own a Fitbit again.

I noticed after coming back from holiday that there was a minor scratch I knew about on my charge 2 but also a bigger one that stretched across the screen which I didn’t know about. I was wondering if there are places where you can get the screen replaced or whether it would be easier for better to invest in a replacement / newer model

If you read much of this post, you will see that there is no way to replace the screen.  The scratch may be a crack as there is a known issue where the screen cracks from top to bottom.  If you are under warranty they will replace the Charge 2 but if you are out of warranty then tough luck.

I had my charge 2 replaced in November 2018 (still in Warranty) due to the screen crack. Replacement just developed a crack (just under 9 months old), they're replacing it. Decided not to take the 50% off a different model since this has happened twice I'm guessing its an ongoing design flaw and don't want to give them any more money. Whilst they keep replacing the charge 2 if it keeps breaking within 12 months, then I'll just keep getting a replacement....

My screen cracked but it is out of warrantee, so I put a very thing coating of Clear Gorilla Glue across the entire screen and it covered the crack and it is hardly noticeable and my the charge 2 is very serviceable.

I am not sure what you are saying, but it does not sound like a cracked screen.  You might want to start a new post with a picture if possible

  • I also have a cracked screen and my Fitbit is out of warranty. With all these messages saying the same thing I ‘m not going to even try to get a replacement or repair.

OMG! I had no idea so many other have a cracked screen like me!  Obviously there is a design problem with the screen on the charge 2!  I love my Fitbit!  Is the charge 3 screen any better or should I consider another brand?

I was ticked off with Fitbit and went with the Amazfit Bip but I fave not heard of any problems with the charge 3.  The thing that I really like about my Bip is that it will hold a charge for about 4 weeks.

Why would you continue to support a company that sold you a premium product
that has a design flaw but refuses to acknowledge it or support the
customers affected by it?

We paid for a premium product be received dollar store materials and
support. Many other Fitbit products have similar problems, like the Aria
scale or the original Charge.

There are so many other, better brands. Choose anything else.

My wife's screen cracked a little after the warrantee ended. I did not know any better so I bought her a new charge 2, then my screen cracked and they will not do anything for me. They know they have a defective piece of equipment and the Fitbit company will not address the problem. I will try to find a better tracker. Any advice on a new tracker?

When my Charge 2 screen cracked and they wouldn’t do anything for me, I went with an Amazfit Bip for around $80 and I am very happy with it.  It will go 3 weeks on a charge with about 25% power still left.  If my Bip goes bad, I will replace it with another because I really do like it.   At this time the only activities that it has are Running, Walking, Cycling and Treadmill.  I hope they add Elliptical & Weights.

You’re lucky. I understood they don’t normally replace the replacements. My wife’s replacement has cracked. I’ll gave to try them again.
