Fitbit Inspire won't scroll

purchased fitbit inspire 3 weeks ago ~ screen won't scroll.  Only displays time.  No trauma to the unit at all.  Although it's supposed to be swim-friendly, I haven't gotten in the pool with it on, and I don't shower wearing it.  The book that came with the fitbit has absolutely no troubleshooting info.  Info online is sparse.  Can anyone help?  Since the screen won't scroll, I can't shut it off to try to reset it...

Hi @Lala_lala  you dont need the screen to scroll to restart it. Try the method in the link several times, but if that doesnt help then please come back here.

I'm having this same problem. The screen will not scroll past the clock. I've attempted a restart several times and I am still having the same problem. I cannot get to the other screens to attempt a factory reset. I've tried changing the clock face and although the clock face changes, I still cannot do anything else.

 

Any suggestions?

@Janaan, since those resets didn't solve the issue, I create a case with our Customer Support team in your behalf. You should soon receive an email from they at the email you used to register with the Community forums. 

@Lala_lala and @Mothershipp if you haven't already done so, try to restart your Inspire following the instructions bellow :

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the tracker until it attaches magnetically. The pins on the charging cable must connect securely with the port.
  3. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds. 
  4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

I'm having the same issue.   Got it last Saturday.  It quit scrolling between screens Wednesday and this afternoon the heartrate stopped so I cant scroll to get to settings.   Tried the reset several times and it hasn't worked.  Leave for vacation out west Wednesday and really need the heartrate tracker while I race at altitude

I also have the same problem with my fitbit which is a little more than a month old. I have also reset several times but no change. I changed the clock face, butt it still won't scroll. Please help.

I have the same problem with my month old Inspire HR. It will only display time and date. It will not scroll.  It will sync with the app. It will vibrate at 10 minutes before the hour as usual. I have tried serval times last night and today to reset it. No luck.

The complete display just started working after 20 hours.

How long should that take? I connected the charger and held the button for 5 seconds. The screen went black. I released it and the time showed, then went black again. No smiley face.

I tried to reset 6 times over a 12 hour period. I never got the smiley face even when I knew the unit was fully charged. It started scrolling about 20 hours after it quit and 6 hours after the last time I tried to restart it.

Mine completely died the second time I tried to reset and it never did
anything again. No one has contacted me from Fitbit. I've been on
vacation and tomorrow will see what I can do about a replacement. This is
my third Fitbit (i lost my last one after two years and the first one was
my fault because of too much water and not one of the waterproof ones) and
I've always been impressed with my products and their customer service, so
I'm sure my outcome will be good

I am having the same problem where it won't scroll - it is about 2 months old.  I have tried to restart it with the directions above and t will not restart - the clock just goes off after a few seconds

I tried restarting my Inspire .....see directions on page 38 in manual.

It worked....it scrolls fine now.

I followed these directions - I hold the button for 5 seconds and it gives a short vibration, but nothing happens.  After a few minutes the clock just goes off.  Doesn't restart, and still won't scroll.
