I just got my Fitbit Inspire in the mail and was so excited to set it up, however I cannot to get it to sync to my phone no matter what I do! I have the fitbit and my phone both plugged in. I have tried quitting the app, restarting my phone, and re-connecting to bluetooth. My fitbit is on but won't connect. Help!

Hi @jlesz  Welcome to the forum. I’m sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Inspire. Will you please a bit more information so we can help you. What version of iPhone do you have? We’re you able to successfully go thru the set up process for your Inspire? What version of the Fitbit app are you using?

Thank you for responding. I have an iPhone 8 and all my software is up to date. I have the most recent version of the Fitbit app, as I downloaded it last night. Nothing will work still.

Thank you for the additional information. Where you able to go all the way thru the setup process?

No. I entered my info (name, height, weight, etc.) but I still cannot connect the device no matter what I do. The screen on my fitbit just says "fitbit.com/setup" at all times.

In the app on your phone, is your Fitbit account setup? Meaning you have a user ID and password? If yes, then click on the squarish icon in the upper right corner. You will be taken to a screen that shows your profile at the top and any devices you have connected and you will see + Set Up a Device. Click that and select your device (Inspire), this should then walk you they the process of looking for your device and setting it up.

Yes my account is set up. I have tried what you suggested multiple times. It does not connect.

I’m having the same issue!!!!!!  Tried everything suggested multiple times over two days.  😩. Guess I should have waited till I could afford an Apple Watch

Just bought 3 days ago my Fitbit inspire Hr. Same problem occurred.

I just bought my Fitbit Inspire HD at Best Buy last March 20, 2019. The Fitbit is paired on my device ( Bluetooth) but the the notification is very difficult to pair/sync to my device. I tried several times but really cannot connect on my phone. I bought this Fitbit Inspire HR because of this notification features which I have on my previous Fitbit HR 2. It seems this problems also happening to others who has this device. Kindly advise us what to do. Thank you

Perhaps I'm the only one... I didn't realize I had the inspire HR.  When I retried using inspire HR as my device choice it worked...

GUESS WHAT????   Now my inspire connects.  I bought a fitbit inspire.  NOWHERE does it say it is an inspire HR.  But I tried connecting to HR and now it works.  What the hell is going on here.  The box it came in does not say it is HR.

Mine still won’t sync!!!!!!!!!!  I have the basic Inspire.  I’ve tried to sync to the HR like some other people suggested worked for them, but no luck.  Does anyone from Fitbit read these posts?

Try this:

  1. Just in case the tracker got paired with the phone's bluetooth, unpair (remove) the tracker from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Reboot your phone
  3. Reboot your Inspire as described here
  4. Login to Fitbit mobile app. Do not pair in phone's Bluetooth settings
  5. Plug Inspire to charging cable
  6. Start setup by adding new device in the fitbit mobile app
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen
  8. Grant all permissions that fitbit requests

If the screen on your Fitbit is saying fitbit.com/setup try opening the web browser on your phone and go to that website, that’s should guide you how to finish setting it up. I have an iPhone 7 and that’s what I had to do to finish setting up my inspire hr

Thank you for your instructions. I’ve done this at least 20 times. I still don’t receive notifications. My iPhone is set to receive all so I don’t believe it’s my phone. Thanks for your time, though.

My Fitbit never said that, only the app on my phone. I’ve started over at least 20 times and still don’t receive notifications. At this point, it’s beyond frustrating. I will use it for a watch and steps, but when I can afford it, I will buy an Apple Watch and certainly not recommend the Inspire to anyone. Thank you for your time.

Same here. Inspire loses its mind and will not reconnect to iPhone. Says Bluetooth is of when in fact it is on and connected. Lost data due to sync errors as well.

Support general attitude is that this is my fault.

This tracker is headed for the trash can.

Shopping for apple watch. Good luck.

After re-connecting for the umpteenth time, three hours later I’m suddenly receiving notifications. ???Don’t know how long this will last, but I too will be in the market for an Apple as soon as I can.
