Hello to the community!
i have a question concerning linking several devices to one Fitbit account. I know it’s been possible to use several fitbits on one account (for daily use and workouts). With Versa and Charge 3 it changed coz they seem to have too similar OS. I was exited therefore to see a new slim tracker - Inspire - but when I chose to set up a new device the app only gave me the option to switch from Versa to Inspire 😞. So does it mean these two are not compatible or does Fitbit still plan at some point to allow the use of both?

I understand what your saying. However , I am looking to wear my fit bit blaze so I have a watch and use the Inspire in my pocket for my steps. I have to hold to a cart for a large part of my day and my blaze does not count my steps correctly when my arm isn’t moving back and forth. So I was wanting to be able to use them both at the same time. Do I have to delete my blaze so the Inspire steps will sync correctly?

It takes too long. I even have to input my WiFi password since Fitbit doesn’t save it. My new Versa 2 is being returned unless Fitbit fixes this situation. I just received my Versa 2 so Fitbit has 45 days.

Hi @LenaRN - It looks like you should be able to have both the Blaze and the Inspire on the same account. According to Help:
For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.
But ... wearing two at one time will be complicated regarding accuracy of steps, notifications, etc. You can read more about it here. I’ve had more than one on my account, but only wore one at a time. It might be workable to remove the Blaze from your account. Wear it simply as a watch. And let the Inspire in your pocket (or in the clip ) track your steps and perform the other functions.

Hi, @LenaRN , Fitbit does not recommend wearing two trackers at the same time. However, for quite some time I wore my One (the predecessor to the Inspire) at the same time as other Fitbits (including the Blaze) with very few issues.
If I were you, I would try it, and see if you seem to get accurate results.
Please post back here if you do the experiment! I am sure that others will be interested.

I tried it yesterday. However when I synced them. It took the lesser steps of my blaze. Which is innaccurate because I hold to a cart and my arm doesn’t move some of the time. I lose Atleast 4000 in a given day. I thought I could use the inspire in my pocket to be more accurate but it syncs back to the blaze steps.

I used to have the zip but I lost it. It would sync them both to my zip steps. Now Fitbit doesn’t have the zip anymore. Grrr

@LenaRN , well, you might try it again a couple of times. Wjen I was wearing two at a time I did sometimes have the issue you report; however, most of the time it worked pretty well. This is not something I have tried recently, however.

Garmin allow uo to 5 devices to connect and sync. Might be time to try that as I tried to replace my one with the inspire as it is the only other tracker with a waist clip to find out I cant. Very unhappy

I just purchased a second Inspire HR as a backup, and now after the fact I realize that I can only have one device on my account at any given time.
Say I was to remove my original Inspire HR from the account and add the new unit to test it for a bit, will it preserve all of my existing data? For example, will the phone app still show my step count back to last August as it currently does? Will all of my stats remain in the activities section of my account on the website? I'm trying for a year straight with 15000+ steps every day and am about half way there at the moment, so I'm more than a bit concerned about data loss if I add/remove different Fitbits to my account.
If I was to create a second account and add the new unit, can I in the future remove the Fitbit from the second account and add it to my current account (after removing the existing Fitbit of course)?

I've just replaced my Blaze with an Inspire HR, and it now seems I have to choose between having my Ionic on my account or the Inspire, where previously I had the Blaze and the Ionic on the same account and could swap freely between them. I've seen all the posts about not being able to have Inspire and Ionic on the same account at the same time, and frankly, it's just not good enough. Do Fitbit have a plan to enable this function in future releases of the app?
Obviously, I can work around the issue by switching whenever I need to, but the point is, I shouldn't have to manage something that can be done in software. Get it sorted out fitbit.

Fellow Fitbit owners,
This online conversation/expression of concern has been going on for quite some time. And we know Fitbit is seeing it...That written, their action -- or, lack thereof -- is proof in and of itself that they simply don't care to address our concerns. And at this juncture, that is fine with me because I have bought my last Fitbit. I wish you all the best.

Fitbit developers, do you hear this? Do you really want to lose market share to the Apple Watch?

Hi Steve (and others) - I really appreciate all of the comments on several threads, but I am still not 100% clear what will work in my case. Is there a handy compatibility chart or similar? My wife has a Charge 2 for jogging/sleep monitoring, and wants a 2nd device [on the same account] with a fancier band for the dance floor. I see the comments about Charge 3 (and other Smartwatches), but is a 2 considered a Smartwatch, too?
Ultimately I would be happy with a simple list ie Charge 2 can share an account with... Inspire, Alta etc etc.
Any help appreciated, thank you in advance

@MattFitbit has there been any movement on this by the dev team?
I have an Ionic and just bought an Inspire HR with the intention of using both.
I only found out I wouldn't be able to do this after opening the product, charging it, and adding it (when the only option I came up with was to "replace" the ionic).
Since it has been known that you can't add 2 "smart" devices to the same account, this should be highlighted on the product pages in a very obvious way. Not doing so makes me think that Fitbit is more concerned with sales than it is with keeping loyal customers (which creates sales).
Please let me know as quickly as possible if this is going to change. I will need to start the process of the struggle of returning this after I already opened it.

Hi @pacifit - This Help page defines it clearly, specifically stating:
I agree, it would be helpful to have this paragraph clearly stated on the product pages. You ask - “Please let me know as quickly as possible if this is going to change.” Unfortunately, Fitbit does not pre-announce new features. It announces them when they are ready to be released. I do know that there are a lot of people who would like to be able to use multiple trackers on one account.

While that FAQ Help page does mention that you can't add 2 "smart" devices to the same account, this Help page, which is the one that gives instructions on how to "ADD A SECOND DEVICE," mentions nothing about that.
Also, since every tracker and smart watch that Fitbit.com is currently advertising is considered a "smart" device and, as such, cannot be added as second device on an account, even the FAQ Help page that you referenced is misleading (because it is outdated).
That is, if you're thinking of buying a new smart watch or tracker shown on the Fitbit website, the answer to the question on the page you referenced (Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?) is actually NO.
When the new devices that a company is selling no longer do something that older devices could, it's time to update ALL advertising and support pages.
What I really want to know: Is this going to change and when? Will the Inspire HR be an outdated product by the time it does change?
I really want to use the Ionic and the Inspire HR but if the only way is to finagle this with 2 separate Fitbit accounts or using an older version of the Fitbit app, that's a deal-breaker.
Can someone from Fitbit please address this question?

Strangely enough the Charge 3 is listed as a "tracker" on their product page! I have pointed this out to Fitbit many times with no explanation. I also would love it if Fitbit would allow this to happen. I own a versa, alta hr (which I use often especially to sleep) as well as the charge 3. I can only have the alta hr and versa or alta hr and charge 3 at the same time. I really find it annoying that I have to switch to either the versa or charge 3 every time!
