Fitbit Update 05/11/2018: We have released Fitbit OS 2.1 to 100% of Versa users (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15).

Hi, everyone! Smiley Happy

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.1! (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15)

We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT’S NEW

Introducing quick replies. Send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit watch. Note that this feature is currently only available on watches paired to an Android phone. For more information, see How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?

WHAT’S FIXED

This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.

I recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

I agree that consumers have a right to know.  I'm in the research phases now trying to decide which device to purchase.  The Versa was coming out on top UNTIL I got to this community.  I even went so far as to set up a profile and log the past few days on fitbit.com.

I understand that any new technology (gadget) will have bugs and kinks that need to be worked out, but ignoring or giving conflicting information is not acceptable.  Hence, I believe I'll wait a few months to do a little more research.

I have a Samsung and may just bite the bullet and get the Samsung Gear Sport OR I may wait and see what the next Amazfit device will be.

Thanks for sharing.  This is one consumer that appreciate honest feedback.

I gave up on Fitbit. I bought an Apple Watch. Absolutely love it and it was
not much more than the versa. It was on sale probably because a new version
will be out soon. Would never recommend a Fitbit product again.

How is the average battery life on your Apple Watch?

I don’t really know what the battery life is. I plug my watch in every morning while I’m in the shower.

It's pretty amazing that they haven't bothered to release a new update by now.

I had terrible syncing issues a week ago. But now everything is fine when it comes to syncing and notification. I reset my Fitbit to factory settings. And then updated it over Bluetooth which took more than an hour and skipped the wifi setup. Now everything works great. The notifications break at night but if I just sync it again in the morning it just starts automatically. Try this reset and update over Bluetooth. Good luck

Mine worked fine until two days ago - now the heart monitor isn't working or showing up on the screen and neither is sleep.  What is going on?

I haven't experienced any issues after 4 months of wearing the Versa. I recommend a snug fit, but not too tight, to allow the Versa to get an accurate read of your heart beat. I use the 4th hole in the large black band. Also, I only charge it as needed or if I am in the pool or shower. Even though it is water resistant to 50 meters I am not capturing my swimming activities. That is more of a recreation activity. I don't need to wear it while bathing either.

Another recommendation is to gently clean the sensors with a lightly damp cloth. A last recommendation is to shut the Versa off completely and wait 60 seconds to reboot. I hope this helps.

I didn't have any trouble up until a couple weeks ago. I have done all of those things - many times.

Thanks-

I think that some people have simply just gotten lucky with the Fitbits they've purchased. Others have tons of issues that everyone else thinks they can solve because their watches work just fine. These issues aren't phantom issues, though. There are too many people having the same problems. Fitbit needs to release an update pronto.

It is always a great idea to do your homework. While reading reviews is the best place to start, consider any and all variables that might be involved in the comments made about the Versa, or any product. While there are legitimate issues with new tech, I have put my Versa through some strong testing. I challenge a group of people to a weekly challenge and for the Weekend Warrior Challenge too to get in the most steps. The most fun challenge was the NYC Race for 10 miles. The updates showing a map of where all the racers were in my group kept me moving.

With the Texas heat I do sweat and the Versa gets damp but it has worked with no problems. I usually get 12k to 15k steps daily with no errors and the Versa gets bumped many times.

Charging is done when I reach 20% (about 4 days but has been 3 days occasionally). I wear the Versa snugly on my dominant arm to eliminate it from sliding around. I don't listen to music on it or connect it to a bluetooth headset for answering calls. I have read that changing the clock face to an aftermarket one designed for the Versa has created some issues. I like the standard FitBit clock face and haven't made any changes there, yet.

By not overwhelming the Versa with lots of additional apps is one of the factors that I attribute my success with the device to. I don't charge it every night, as some people do, which I feel contributes to it's stability.

Keep up the research, but I know you will enjoy the Versa if you choose to go with it.

It has a lot of issues besides the things you mentioned, though. For people
who like to run, the connected GPS simply does not work. And that is a huge
thing for many people. I think you're attributing your success with the
watch to user error with the faults that many other people experiencing.
There ARE hardware issues that exist. You just might not see them because
you don't use those functions.

Will this be automatic or will I get it’s your turn to update notifications?

I know most of these issues are NOT user error.  These are either app related or hardware related.

No, not you lol. The other person! Kled.

The thing that I think is important is not only are these problems clearly firmware problems, they should be easy for Fitbit to track down and fix, if they want. Because the problems happen to particular users and persist, even if they receive replacement devices, the problems are clearly bugs in the firmware exposed by the ways these particular users interact with or configure it. If Fitbit were to simply develop a set of questions for support to target possible causes, they should be able to reproduce and fix the problems easily.

My versa is great...no issues!   Remember that those happy usually won’t come on a community at all....usually you get concerns and complaints.  😊

Yeah, well I am on my second watch, aaannndddd guess what, it is completely dead again. I have been a fitbit owner for 6 or 7 years now. I am seriously considering trying something else. This is taking way to long to fix!
