Fitbit Update: 1/9/2020
Hey, Versa Smartwatches family!
I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the New Year. Before the holidays, we released this firmware out to 100%.
If you still don't see the update for Fitbit OS 4.1 (70.7.14) because it's brand new or perhaps was gifted to you for Christmas, please continue syncing the watch and make sure you have all-day sync turned on. You will soon after see the banner prompting you to update to this firmware.
Thanks for your patience and hope you continue enjoying this update!
Fitbit Update: 12/5
Hi, Versa Smartwatches family!
We’re excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 4.1 (Firmware Version: 70.7.14).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
The update includes a variety of new features and enhancements, including:
Smart wake: Smart wake will gently begin to wake you with subtle vibrations during the optimal part of your sleep cycle (during light or REM) within a 30 minute window prior to your pre-set alarm. This allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
Clock face switcher: You will now be able to store up to five clock faces right on your device and quickly change from one to the other using the new clock face switcher.
On-wrist Sleep Score: The score will now be available in the on-device dashboard that can be accessed by swiping up from the clock face. You can still see it alongside your sleep data within the Fitbit app after you sync.
Exercise app improvements: The redesigned Exercise app will now display all 20 workouts in a new streamlined list on your wrist.
Battery notification: When your battery is running low, a new feature will automatically disable notification vibrations and if on, the always-on display on Versa 2 to preserve your battery life.
Agenda app: A new Agenda app allows you to see your calendar right on your wrist.
For more information on the new features included in Fitbit OS 4.1 check out this article. You can also check out our press release.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa/Versa 2 can be found here.
To update Versa Lite Edition, leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone. When the update is ready, you’ll see a notification in the Fitbit app.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa, Versa 2 or Versa Lite, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips. If you have any issues after completing the update, when in doubt, try a restart on the watch.
How to restart your watch:
We appreciate your patience while we work to roll this out to everyone.

Shawsy65: You set the color for the different calendars in the settings for the Agenda app within the Fitbit app on your phone. I am on iOS. The different colors just show on the left edge of each calendar item on your Versa (very similar to the way the iPhone calendar app displays colors for different calendars), so it's very subtle.

@Michelle3161 This is exactly what has happened with my THIRD tracker.
it doesn’t work. I am totally disappointed with this product.
Original tracker - battery failed.
1st replacement tracker - screen failed, (and never synced with my samsung phone.)
2nd replacement tracker has this reboot issue and now just doesn’t work.
I note that the replacement trackers are posted from schenzen in China. Is this the home factory of the product.
I am incredibly frustrated but this whole episode, and would not recommend versa to anyone.

My third Versa is on the way. First battery died after 11 months, second got the 4.01 firmware update and is constantly rebooting. I've been a Fitbit customer since the first Tracker was released but this is my last Fitbit unless Google can right the ship.

@AlessFitbit There's so much negativity on these forums, I wanted to post some positive feedback.
I just updated my Versa Lite and so far everything works great. I love the new Agenda app and the other new features. I have learned that whenever you do an update, first power cycle your Fitbit device and your phone. Put your Fitbit device on it's charger and then start the update. If things seem to be a little glitchy after the update, power cycle your Fitbit device and your phone again. I might add, I have an LG G7 ThinQ, which is NOT on the list of supported devices, but everything works as it should with the app.

Hi Fitbit Versa users and Fitbit support team.
I received my replacement Versa in first week Dec 2019 with the firmware 32.12.19.
The reason of replacement was very poor battery life.
It worked great and i got a battery life of aprox 5 days average.
On 6th Dec 2019 after I removed the Versa from my Iphone app and re-paired , I received the notification of firmware update and updated the same to 32.70.7.14. Its working great as on date. The clock faces are working quite good and the controls are fine on the watch as well as through the Iphone app. I am getting the battery life of aprox 4 to 5 days. I have kept most of the notifications off, only the calls and messages are on. The screen brightness is kept on Dim, Screen time out on 10 seconds, Vibrations to Normal, Screen wake to Auto (Motion). I am using simple clock faces of small memory sizes. I am satisfied about this Versa and recommend to use it wisely. I also simpathize with some of you who have problems and suggest tp get in touch with their support team and they will surely help to resolve the issues. Best Regards and have a fit life ahead.

@SunsetRunner
Seconded. The update was pushed through earlier today and my VL updated successfully in about 40 minutes.
No problems to report, except that I had to toggle the permissions in the phone app to get the Agenda app working.

I got the same message this morning @iryantosyam, and I decided to take the plunge and update. I did learned two things from all these comments.
I connected my Versa with the charger and my phone was fully charged with screen on all the time. I just set the calendar permissions (lot of options!) and installed my five favorite watch faces. While swiping through the screens and opening all the apps I do not notice any lag.

Guys,
Finally, after worrying for something worst happen, I updated my Versa 2. Everything is running flawlessly. It just needs no more than 10 minutes, I guess, to update it. Here is my Versa 2 after using Fitbit OS 4.1 (35.70.7.14) on video https://youtu.be/7LXw_BYpCiY
In the end, please don't worry to update to Fitbit OS 4.1

This new update is extremely unstable, it keeps shutting my watch down randomly, and especially when I sync it with the app. If this breaks my watch, will Fitbit replace it? I’ve had this Versa Lite for 6 months and had zero problems ever till this update, and it’s been a mess ever since.

Just updated my Versa 2. No observable problems thus far. I did hold my breath while the IPhone app displayed “installing” for several minutes.

I got the update banner last night. I have the OG versa that I pre-ordered upon release it still gets a solid battery life and functions beautifully and I am nervous to update. However I’m the kind of girl who can’t sit around wondering if something bad is going to happen… As soon as I get home from meditation circle this baby’s getting updated! I’ll let you know how it goes…

Got the update yesterday evening. Had a few issues at my end. It took over 2 hrs to complete the update. Then again, my phone isn't on the compatibility list. Had no issues this morning. Clock faces loaded. I got Agenda to work. I just don't see an option for Always on Display, which isn't a big deal for me. It's probably something I wouldn't use anyways. So far, so good. Will update in a week, or when I next have to charge my battery.
