I have a Versa 2 and an iPhone X and cannot seem to get my text messages to my watch. All the settings are on to receive notifications on phone & watch. I had no issue with this and the blaze. Help please:)

That's what is my message app and I still can't get it to come through. Just doesn't make sense that it worked for a week when I first got it. Then stopped. Is Google Messages similar?

I have the galaxy s10. Unfortunately the only way to get messages to the watch is download google message . Change that to your default app. The only thing I don't like is I cant pin priority messages at the top. It's a different setup which sucks we have change stuff. I've had a ton of fitbits but I swear I'm never buying one again

Apparently it's a software problem. This is the last message Fitbit sent me about the text messages.

I have the same exact phone. Had no issues with the first Versa but now with three versa 2 I get no texts, no calls, no notifications nothing. Tried everything they suggested and still nothing. So frustrating! Glad im not alone but seriously concerned so many have the same issues.

My husband and I both have the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the Versa 2. We have both switched to Google Message. I am getting all notifications on my Fitbit. He was not getting any (text, email, phone call). When he went into the Fitbit app, it was not syncing (just the spinning circle). These are the steps we took to fix it: 1) In the S10 settings, go to Apps. Find the Fitbit app and select "force stop". 2) Restart the phone; and 3) Reboot the Fitbit: hold down the main control button on the Fitbit until the Fitbit logo appears. Let go of the button and wait a few seconds until your home screen/clock reappears. All his notifications are now working on the Fitbit. The first clue that you have to go through the process is the Fitbit app isn't syncing. Granted, one shouldn't have to go through all of this. It's ridiculous. But it did solve the problem.

I have tried everything to get my phone to Sync since I did the update and nothing seems to work. I deleted the fit bit app, restarted my phone, and turned the blue tooth on and off again several times. I also deleted my device out of the fitbit app and added it again and it said that it paired with my blue tooth but when I go in to my blue tooth settings it is not paired, I am not receiving text messages on my fitbit because of this. I have a google pixel.

If you have more than one sms message app on your Android phone you need to make sure your default one is selected in your Fitbit app. Do this:
1. Open your Fitbit app on your Android Phone.
2. Select your Account / Profile from top left.
3. Select your device under devices.
4. Scroll down to Notifications and select it.
5. Make sure Notifications are turned on and you select the sms message app that you have selected as your default on your Android phone.
Now you should receive text messages on your Versa 2. Keep in mind when you receive updates or change you default sms message app on your Android phone you may need to make changes to your default sms message app in your Fitbit app.

I've done that too. Fitbit acknowledges it's their problem and they are working on a fix.

I have done this. Even deleted the watch and reset it and redownloaded the software. Fitbit has finally notified me it's a problem that they have to fix in the software.

I did the Google messages works to receive text notifications, but it doesnt send my replies from the watch. This is a real pain on the butt, I am really frustrated and ready to return for a refund.
It seem that this has been going on for some k ok months now and Fitbit has not fixed the problem.

It is frustrating. I have been able to also send replies from my Fitbit. I always use the verbal response function, where you talk into the Fitbit. So far it is still working.

Edit 3 - I just got a few more texts so about 6 total out of 9 in the last hour. This is more texts than I've gotten since new years so I'm going to keep this flash notification on for now and see how it goes. I was going to switch to google messages but I just don't like how it looks and that I can't pin conversations to the top. May do that if this stops working consistently. I didn't even have it installed long enough to test if it worked with versa text notification.
Edit 2 -Just kidding this has now stopped working. Of course. I'm leaving it up in case it works consistently for someone else.
Orig Post- Okay I may have a work around. I had a feeling this had something to do with the screen being locked because when I do get texts I feel like my screen is usually on like when i'm using google maps navigation. When a text comes in the phone screen doesn't light up automatically. I found a thread on the Samsung site about this. https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S10e-S10-S10-S10-5G/S10-Notifications-not-waking-up-scree...
Someone there said that in the accessibility settings there is a screen flash option that lights up the screen briefly. Settings> Accessibility>Advanced Settings>Flash Notification>Screen Flash. I enabled this and got 4 texts in a row on my versa 2 and was able to reply on the watch with my phone screen locked. Fingers crossed this keeps working because we all know the most frustrating thing about this issue is that it sometimes works out of the blue and then stops for no reason. I also don't understand why this only effects text messages when other notifications aren't affected. I'll respond to this thread with an update on whether this continues to work for me.

Hello, my Versa 2 isn't receiving text or email notifications. I tried unpairing and now it will not come up in the available devices to even pair it. I paid too much money for this to happen. I will be returning this if it can't be fixed.

@shemou I had this issue today because I also tried that to fix this issue. I couldn't repair the device from the bluetooth menu. I googled it and saw this advice somewhere. I had to go into the fitbit app click the account icon and then chose set up a device and pick versa 2. This didn't erase any data I did have to set up which apps I wanted notifications from I believe but my watch faces and other settings were still saved. It will ask you if you want to replace the current versa 2 and I just said yes. Hope that helps.
