I recently upgraded to a Versa 2 Special Edition. I receive my notifications and alerts for phone calls on my iPhone 6; however, I am not receiving my text messages on my device. I was advised that the software version on my iPhone needed to be at least 13 or higher. Is that correct? My prior Versa did not have that issue. Please provide some clarification. Thank you.

I am also having the same issues with not receiving text messages on Versa 2. This is very annoying. Tried all the steps, repaired, restarted iPhone 6 and still not working. Receive notifications from my apps and my phone calls, but no text messages. Fitbit C.S. advised that my iPhone needs to have software version of 13 or higher, but from reading all the messages that still does not seem to resolve the issue. What is the problem? Will Fitbit address this? I am thinking of returning the Versa 2 as this is not what I expected.

I have Verizon and I use their messages +. I have emailed Fitbit and got ideas. But in the end I reset the watch to new and redid it. I still get a message on the Fitbit app that my phone needs restarted that Notifications aren't on but I still get them. Some have been using Google messages. Here is Fitbits email address and they reply within a day. https://contact.fitbit.com

Mine is also on there with the software version needed, but it still doesn't work. A chat session with Fitbit indicated "they are aware of this issue and are working on a solution" but no timeframe for when it will be fixed. Not very helpful.

When does Fitbit release updates? Are they scheduled or as needed. Wht did they bit provide better updates. This is not some small little bug. This is a MAJOR issue affecting almost anyone with a versa and a phone bit receiving text messages one of the major reasons to purchas . Their support is **ahem**! Unrea . Companies need to learn that communication and transparency with customers is how to retain and gain customer . Unreal they can act like this in 2020. Losing a lot of customers over this major screw up and lack of testing. Not taking accountability and providing a reasonable timeline and frequent updates is unreal.

They released app update 1/22. That screwed me up for a week. Then I fixed my problems and a week later (last week) they posted another update to app. I didn’t update - read recent reviews and it didn’t fix anything, and sounds like made more problems. If you have app store on apple you can read the reviews and problems with latest update. I didn’t read before I updated on 1/22 and wish I had because the first one i read was someone warning against updating. That person went to backup and reverted to older version of app. Not sure what reviews look like on android version. But overwhelmingly a problem per app store on iPhone.

Problem solved: Versa 2 displays telephone call and calendar notifications, but DOES NOT display text message notifications.
Devices: Fitbit Versa 2, iPhone 8 running iOS 13.3.1
Short history:
I used a Versa 2 from 11/2019 until 2/2019, when I upgraded to an Apple Watch. My Versa 2 worked perfectly for me, and my wife started using it after I upgraded. When connected to her iPhone, it did not provide text message notifications.
I tried all of the suggestions in this thread....
Factory reset Versa 2
Deleted iPhone app and reinstalled
Checked all settings as recommended in the Versa 2 and her phone.
Checked Bluetooth settings
Adjusted notification settings for Fitbit.
This was the solution, and one that I have not seen listed here, although I may have overlooked it.
1. Open the "Settings" app on iPhone.
2. Click on "Notifications".
3. Scroll down to "Messages" and click "Messages".
4. Scroll down to "Options", "Show Previews", and click "Show Previews"
5. Select either "Always" or "When Unlocked".
What I found was that if this setting in "Notifications", "Messages" is set to "Never" the iPhone prevents the notification from being sent to the Fitbit.
I hope this solves the problem for some that are frustrated with this issue. Fitbit, you might want to add this to your instructions for receiving notifications on iPhone, as this is not a very intuitive setting that the average person would think to change.

It shows on this page that it's compatible.https://www.fitbit.com/us/technology/compatible-devices
But my Samsung was listed as not. But it is working fine now. I dealt with Firbit by email. Much easier as they post in English and can check your phone to see if something is missed in setting it up. They reply within a day. Some people have been using Google message but I'm on Verizon and use theirs. Here's the email link.

I am getting ready to get and Apple. I got text messages for ONE day and then my phone updated to 12.3 and I have never received a text message since then. I am so incredibly disappointed. Have done all troubleshooting available.

I have been having this issue for months with my iPhone X. Changed my message settings Previews to “Always” and synced with the Fitbit app- immediately started working again.
