Hi Fitbit, have you solved the swimming issue  and is the Versa 2 capable to track swimming ?

Ditto from me....... I have watched over this last year; They care not one whit. I suspect the arrogance is google standard!!!!

Best to return it for a refund and buy an Apple watch, I did.
This issue has been raised with Fitbit for over a year, the feature was on the original Versa but not on the 'improved ' Versa 2.
So after many hundreds of complaints and comments Fitbit are not interested, so get an Apple watch, much better and a better company.

Kind regards,

Stephen

Do you need an iPhone to run the Apple watch?

It has been so disappointing!

You can, but you will be limited to some extent. You should google this and see if it would be worth it for you.

I love my Apple Watch (but I do have an iPhone). It has been the absolute best swim watch I have ever owned, and I've owned quite a few. It is 100% accurate for me for counting laps, it auto pauses when I rest, and the stats it collects are fantastic. I never thought I would get one of these, but I have zero regrets. I just wish I felt safe swimming laps with the pandemic raging... I'm using it for other activities now and am very happy with the data it gathers.

Honestly, the ability to touch an icon to make my iPhone beep so I can find wherever I left it makes it well worth the price since I always leave the ringer off and having someone call it for me doesn't help. (That's mostly a joke, but only mostly.)

Given that I am now on my fourth Versa in two years (three replacements under warranty!)  i am seriously wondering whether to give up and just get an Apple Watch, especially now they can do sleep tracking.
I like the fitbit app but I have had 5 different products over the last decade and every single one of them has died...and yet I stick with them due to the replacements..

It does not show how many laps you have done just meters and time- very disappointed as I loved this feature on my versa 1. Don't understand why they removed a good and useful feature. I would not have changed it had I known

As said in multiple instances in this forum and in letters to Fitbit, real time display of pool laps is a basic feature for a tracking device. It is very upsetting that the feature was there, was removed and never replaced in spite of all the community feedback

Yes this is how the versa worked before the versa 2! 😔

They do not care about any issues especially with a faulty device. My husbands charge 2 screen cracked in the sun and they refused to do ANYTHING! They are a terrible company and I have had nothing but issues with fitbit devices. I will never buy another one!

Fit bit do not care! I've just gone round in circles on a chat. I discussed the lost swim laps and their response was simply laps is not on the list of features! They then tell you that at the end if you press end chat you get offered to save your chat then answer a survey. When you ask do you promise it will be there they just reply 'great! And guess what? They lied! Its not there!!!

I like my Versa. When I need to replace I will get another Versa not 2 as not good for swimming however if it is no longer an option I will go for Garmin or Apple.

very disappointing wore it swimming today less than 2 metres depth and its stopped working. I bought this specifically so it could be swim proof.

I started mine before I swam yesterday and it started counting my minutes then when I had finished it had stopped monitoring me! Its also v difficult to press the 'done' on screen when finished as if it stops been responsive when wet!

My husbands versa lite is just as bad! Under a year old and whilst in Spain the clock face has died and is blank! It still counts steps so not completely dead but think it didn't cope with the heat! I've had a fitbit charge hr and 2 charge 2s and my 1st versa all break (the screen on both my charge 2 and my husbands cracked in the heat on holiday but fitbit didn't want to know and refused to fix them). Now my versa 2 swimming screen is faulty. Think I'm done with fitbits now!!
