I called customer service and they sent me a puny 25% discount on a new watch. I have been checking out other brands, but so far none of them feel right to me. Probably because I have been with Fitbit for so long. I have a question though. If I get a new versa, will they make you update the firmware, this starting this process all over again?

I updated this morning, and now I cannot charge. My screen is blank. I've held the button for 20-30 second, nothing. It's been on the charger for almost 6 hours .... nothing. What do I do? Thanks!

After waiting a week for contact, I had a support person tell me how to sync my device as if that was the issue.
I clearly know how to sync my device - I've been using fitbit for five+ years, I'd sure have other troubles if I didn't know how.
All my issues were ignored. If support is limited, doubling up on contact interactions will just cause more workload rather than easing it.
I don't mind not getting one-on-one help, but I do want the firmware update to be rolled back or fixed. The issues I'm experiencing are not for me alone. I've not used my device for over a week now because it doesn't hold charge.

We are SOL. They don't care. I have been a customer for 10 years and they couldn't do anything to keep me but offer a 25% discount for a product that will brick again.

I cannot update my Fitbit versa at all.
Currently on an iphone iOS 13. Whenever I tried to update via the app, it will be stuck on the fitbit logo screen and on the app it is stuck on downloading!

Lodyangel,
If you get a new versa or versa 2 it will come with the old firmware on it. It wont ask you to update it until 2 or 3 days later. Do NOT update the firmware and you will be good to go. So if you want to get a new device, you will be safe as long as you dont update it once the update pops up. At one point, the update button was very sneaky and there were 3 different areas asking to update. So just be aware of any red down arrows are an update button too.

Bought my Fitbit Versa 1 year and 4 months ago. February 2019. The first 2 or 3 month i had major problems, short battery run time, no syncs, sleep detection very bad.
After a few updates it was half way usable, sleep detection never worked for me. Often it told me i hadn't slept at all.
Until this week it was good for detecting my resting heart rate and controlling the music in my car.
Then the newest update came and my watch started to show the wrong time. It was a few minutes behind. Within half of a day it was 30 minutes behind and also refused to sync.
Did all the steps i was used to for troubleshooting. Nothing helped until i did the factory reset.
At this point it took me 2 hours to get the Versa (with factory settings) connected to my phone again. After several restarts of the Versa it was finally found but refused the 4 digit code to connect. Had to try that another 5 times before it connected.
Getting it into my wifi was the same, took me like 20 minutes before it worked.
After all that, it was working for a half day, before the time starting to lag behind again.
Contacted the Support on Facebook today (Saturday), reported about the problem, the steps taken and had to do all that again.
Nothing worked, so i did another factory reset and that was the moment my Versa died. It never turned on again and none of the button combinations is working, nor does the charger has any effect. Just plain and simply dead.
The Support on Facebook was not reading my messages anymore, maybe work time was over.
So i called Amazon Tech Support and told them i got a problem with my Versa and before i could explain what happened, the technician on the phone asked if my Versa refuses to turn on.
They know about that problem, got tons of calls from people and i got immediately all the required stuff to send the Versa back to Amazon and get a 100% refund after 16 months.
Thx Amazon, bye bye Fitbit, never again learned my lesson here.

This is NOT TRUE! I just got off live chat, and they confirmed that not everyone has received the firmware update. My firmware is still at 35.68.9.15 I just got the watch about two days ago and no firmware update coming through to my Versa 2. I can go to the 'HELP' section, but it just keeps saying that it is up to date. I am assuming that maybe it means the app?
Why Fitbit makes updating firmware so difficult, is beyond me.

I'm thinking that the only trouble I've had is since Google came onboard 🤔

@Fichrist the Google acquisition has NOT completed yet. They have merely stated they INTEND to purchase FItbit subject to approval WHICH HAS NOT been granted yet.

My Versa was bricked by this latest update. It was still in warranty and I was sent a Versa 2 as a replacement by fitbit. It arrived last week and today the app is telling me there’s an update! 🤭 I’m loathe to update this new device. If I don’t update will the reminder eventually go away?
