Versa display not working

I have had this Versa for awhile now and love it. But a few nights ago i went to sleep with everything working fine. Woke up the next morning and the screen is black/blank. You can feel the device turn on and off and i added a new clock face to see if that was the issue but nothing has worked so far. Should i just replace the screen? I tried the factor restart.

The same thing has happened to me.

I got my watch in February this year  - it's been great until this morning.

I have tried resetting as suggested  and no go

I’m having the same issue. Called customer service and had a very unpleasant experience on the first call and then called back immediately after and the man offered some advice for restarting. Nothing worked. Unfortunately I’ve had the device for 13 months so no replacement. They gave me 25% off the purchase of a new device but I’m hesitant to purchase another Fitbit if they are only going to last a year.

I had this problem after 9months , they replaced the first pebble but when
the 2nd pebble did the same thing they pretty much said ‘tough’ . They
offered discount on a limited range of new products ... all of which could
be bought cheaper elsewhere. I decided not to stay with Fitbit . Bought an
Huawei honour band for £25 . Doesn’t do quite as much as Fitbit but hey
it’s £25 syncs with my phone etc . Only thing I miss is you can’t chose
active minutes alert rather than steps .

My third (and final) Fitbit screen just died last week. I got a Garmin vivo active 3 instead of the Versa and so far, it’s working great! Fitbit app is a bit more user friendly, but Garmin has a lot more data! I don’t think I will personally go back to FitBit again after my experience with the Versa, after being a Fitbit user for the last 10 years or so.

Hi I just discovered I'm having the same issue with my watch display not working. I presume FitBit will only replace it if it's under warranty? Being my Versa is almost 2 years old, I'm just going to have to buy a new one?

You can call FitBit customer service to double check, but I believe they will require you to buy a new one or give you a small discount to buy a new one. I have now switched to Garmin Vivoactive and will never go back to FitBit! While FitBit has a very user friendly interface, I much prefer the Garmin device, which has superior workout tracking and data and is still very easy to use! Highly recommend going with Garmin over FitBit, especially after I had so many screen issues with the FitBit Versa.

Hello, thank you RG1234, I did contact customer service, and you are right. They gave me a 25% discount on my next Fitbit.  I ordered it already, but I really like the look of the Garmin Vivoactive, you went with.  Does the Garmin sync with MyFitnessPal do you know?

I called them and they gave me a 25% code to use for a replacement but you can only use it on their site. I was disappointed because I wanted to get mine from Best Buy or Amazon because they usually have a better deal. I did not use my discount or purchase another Fitbit product. My husband gave me  his iWatch to try instead. I had originally done a lot of research on iWatch and Versa and decided to go with the Fitbit because it seemed to meet more of my needs. After using the iWatch for the past couple of months I won’t go back to Fitbit. I’m extremely disappointed with them after buying two of their products and the failure of the Versa with less than desirable support on my first call. If I were you I would go with Garmin or iWatch. My mom switched from Fitbit to Garmin and raves about it.

I've reset my versa and screen still keeps going off. I can't swipe screen and it isn't receiving any notifications. It vibrates and when I try to look at screen it's blank. I've tried factory reset and still no joy 😕

I’m having the exact same problem! Do you mind sharing the phone number?

I've tried both the 3 button reset and the 2 button reset and it is still unresponsive.

Mine is doing the same thing.  When I called Fitbit they tried to sell me another watch with 25%off.  I believe after paying over$200 it should last longer that 18 months. I still have a$15 dollar timex watch that's 30 years old and it still works. I'm not a happy customer right now!😡

I totally agree with you! They're not cheap watches and should definitely
last longer than 18 months. Noticing alot of people having the same
problem. I've opted in buying a Garmin one and its working well.

I had the same issue... Tried everything and bc I'm over a year I get to purchase a new fitbit.  How convenient... Makes me not want to even bother at this point

I completely understand!  I received my new Versa 2 in May, and I'm already having problems with the screen going blank occasionally.  The problem seems related to not syncing appropriately, but if it dies again, I sadly have no choice but to get an iWatch.

Hello,

I have had my Fitbit Versa for less than year and a half and had the same problem. You can see the backlight turn on, it charges, and tracks activity, but the screen is blank and I can't view anything on my watch. I asked for assistance and they won't repair it. They offered me a discount to buy a new one, but I'm so disappointed in the low quality and short longevity of my watch, I can't  bring myself to want to buy another one.

Hi NellyG,

I have the same issue for a few days with my Fitbit versa. Recharged my device 100%. Followed you above mentioned step but in vain. Still no display. I can see sensors are working however the problem lies in the watch's display. Please support me to fix with an alternate solution. Thank you

I want to raise this to a FitBit moderator so hopefully something will get resolved. I've read a lot of posts and it seems like the Versa products go bad within 2 years a lot. I've had that experience with 2 thus far. I ended up going back to my Charge 2 and it is fine. The trackers seem to work fine. It is the Smartwatches that are problematic. Customer service post-warranty is pretty atrocious in my opinion and that is the message that should be sent to FitBit. I see more and more people switching brands - why? Because you won't replace faulty products. If the price point were $50, sure I'd purchase another after 2 years, but at $200, my expectation is much greater. The Versa and FitBit customer service on post-warranty issues is terrible. Here's 25% off - got get another is not helpful and hurts your brand. Just my 2 cents.

Totally agree with you. Fitbit will not get anymore of my money once or when this watch messes up.
