Versa says Data not cleared Sync and try again

After following the recommended factory reset instructions for this firmware update, I can no longer get my Versa to show anything other that the above message, Any help would be welcomed

I did everything but to no avail. I contacted customer support and even they couldn't fix it. They were going to send me a new one but I went on YouTube and figured it out. Here are the steps...

 

1.Delete the tracker from the app if you haven't already. Delete the app as well. 

2.Go to Bluetooth and unpair the Fitbit from your devices; be sure to check your entire list until you find it.

3. Download the Fitbit app once more. Connect the Fitbit to the charger. 

4. Add and setup the select the Fitbit.

5. Be sure to select your Wifi network in order to efficiently download/upgrade everything.

Finally, 5 easy steps and I Versa out of the data error mode.  Everything is now functioning with the exception of measuring sleep activities.

i did the same it worked!!!! wow i was worried that in these days when there's curfew lock down how would i return and get replacement. Thanks a lot for writing in detail.

Hey Everyone. My fitbit Versa never syncs... It has probably synced about 8 times since I bought it in August last year. I factory reset red it now and the screen comes up with 'data not cleared sync and try again'. However, it doesn't sync and if I try and restart it, it just shows up with the same message. I am so frustrated and irritated with this device.

 

Please help?

There has been many suggestions on Fitbit community, need to try it.

I have tried almost every suggestion. Also, if there is a data sync image on my screen, it doesn't let me restart it or anything so not sure what I'm meant to do

i connected my Fitbit to my lab top (I kept the Fitbit on the charger ). I deleted it from my phone and then went on the fit bit app on my phone and set up a new device. I did the update tracker and let it go from there. It would stop several times but I would hit the update button again and it picked up where it left off. I would not use my phone and I would not let the phone dim. I kept the Fitbit sitting on my phone and had everything on chargers. It took awhile but finally got it done. Good luck!

Make sure your Fitbit is on the charger cradle correctly. I didn’t have this issue but I did have the red x.

It acts like it works until you have to download the new upgrade that takes hours then after all that wait it says data not cleared. I have the versa and it works fine but have had issues with the versa lite since we got it.

mines have the same thing they did the same thing to me but im still trying to get this thing to work i dnt knw what to do at this point im about sick of them they lie to get ur money and when they got u they dnt care i been throw that with everything i had but im nt going to let them get away this this im nt going to stop in to someone help me i have to write them a letter i will becouse i dnt think what they are doing to use is right

Yesterday my Fitbit came up with data not cleared sunc and try again

I have tried reboot I have checked latest iOS I have tried using a different devise but still my Fitbit Versa lite still says data not cleared sync and try again

so frustrating 

Can anyone help please not sure what else to try ☹️

Connect your Fitbit into you computer ( like is going to charge) do not disconnect from your computer. 

  Delete your Fitbit from your app on your phone.

 Turn Off the bluetooth  and turn On

 Open your Fitbit app and Add new device 

  When the app find your Fitbit smartwatch  press add immediately you will see is and update available  do the update you will see in your smartwatch is making the update wait until finish,  when you see normal screen smartwatch you can disconnect from your pc

I don’t have laptop just an iPad and iPhone 😟

ive tried disconnecting Bluetooth and removing devise 

nothing works Getting very frustrated I’ve used Fitbit for many years and not had any problems till I got versa lite

Well go with a friend that have a computer that's the best way to get back your Fitbit   . But you can still trying using your phone .

 Delete the device from the Fitbit app in your phone ,connect your Fitbit smartwatch to charge, in your phone turn off the bluetooth and turn on again , then add a new device in the Fitbit app, the app will be searching when find it , add it, when you see is an update available do it, good luck.

  PD. It's better if you do it connected your Fitbit into a computer.

Sorry is a serious reply? This is not feasible in the current pandemic

i have already tried your other suggestion which did not work

i am very unhappy that I spent for me a lot of money for a devise that I now cannot use

why is it not working? I do not seem to be alone I. Having problems with Versa lite

Yes I know I was very frustrated to when I see my smartwatch dosen't work and take me 4 days to fixed ,and frustrated because Fitbit company do mo have customer support,  but you can try what I said before, that the way I fixed my smartwatch an I get it back ,until today is working great

Your tip worked I borrowed a laptop and set it up on my iPad instead of my phone and it worked!
