Listen. I haven’t even had my fitbit for a year and this “data not cleared. sync and try again” message has been up on the screen for 2 months now. I have tried a factory reset, force reset, disconnecting and reconnecting bluetooth and wifi. nothing is working at all and its very frusturating.

Hi
My Fitbit says data not cleared sync and try again. I've tried all that you said and still does not want to work.

I did everything suggested, but nothing happens. The same message appears: data not cleared sync and try again.
The problem is that my Iphone does not even recognize the Versa, so I can’t sync it!

Thanks for your help. I don’t know if it is a new iphone upgrade, but there is not such option under the Fitbit app. In Settings > General > iPhone Store > Fitbit; is an option to “off load” an to “delete” the app. I tried both, none of them worked. My iPhone resists to “see” the Versa. I wanna cry!!! 😭

Hi everyone on here who has had this issue. I also have had all the issues (notifications are up to date and it just keeps going and going and won't turn off. Then the red X data not cleared sync and try again). After trolling through all the coms i too was no closer to resolving the issue. I too did all the suggested fixes the FitBit dude said and to be honest it made the issue worse not better. In the end i could not get rid of the error message showing a red X "data not cleared sync and try again". So darn frustrating!
I have however found a fix and my fitbit is back up and working again. What a rigmarole! If you haven't already, try this within the App go to "set up a new device" which automatically removes the current device that has the error message and complete the set up process. After the set up it wouldn't turn on and therefore the APP couldn't find it (i felt defeated at this stage but ) I held the left button and the bottom right until the Fitbit logo appeared (then let go) . Voila! my clock face appeared on the watch and now its working as normal. Phone can now see the device and the watch is not showing any error messages. Yay! I hope this fix hopes someone.
I hope this helps!

3.- Open Fitbit app in your phone
4.- Turn ON the bluetooth in your phone
5.- Go to your account on Fitbit app
6.- Add a new device ( the app will be looking for new device when find the app will ask if you want replace the existing device say yes).
