Fitbit Update: 12/18/19
Hi everyone,
When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.
Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.
If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

I've noticed this is several months old, yet I'm still having this issue with my new versa lite. Was there a solution?

I don't really know, some just started working. It was a bug I think. But recently our WiFi got fixed and we connected my phone and the Fitbit to the same WiFi and it worked. It works now.

WAIT! The same is happening on bike rides too! You can do miles & miles & the distance will NOT record!
No rush.
It is only 7 months since I first asked about this.
The email I received back was 'We (FitBit) are investigating. We are working on a resolution'.
Water based workouts are probably going to take just as if not even longer to resolve.
Garmin & Polar don't have this issue.
Versa: The FitBit flagship fitness tracker does though. Just saying.

My verse was flashing between screens after being in water yesterday, and battery went really quickly. It was charged overnight and now it won’t work at all.

Water logging worked for me on the versa for exactly one day(13th) ,now it's back to not adding up. when I log on the versa it won't transfer to the app, if I log on the app it will transfer to the watch.

Just bought the Fitbit Versa two days ago and my water log isn’t syncing with my Fitbit app on my iPhone. I wish there was a reminder to tell me to drink water like there is if I’m low on steps for the hour. I’ll keep researching...

I bought my Versa 5 days ago. The water logging feature has never worked properly. I tried all the suggestions on here (numerous times) and then got in contact with Customer Services who, so far, have failed to provide any useful assistance. I am seriously considering returning the Versa. Does anyone know of a fix for this issue which actually works??

Yes, buy the Garmin band instead. It's been more than a week and I'm still waiting for Fitbit to follow up with me on my challenges with their poorly developed software. They seem to think it's okay to put out subpar and expensive merchandise and little to no good follow up.

It is apparent Fitbit doesn't have a fix for their units not syncing or working correctly. No wonder the company is losing market share to others.
Time to dump Fitbit that was a Mother's day gift and go back to my Garmin. Frustration from not getting what is promised not worth it.

I guess it just took some time to sync that specific stat because now it’s working like a charm. Not sure if anything was changed but I’m happy now. 🤙🏾

Which Garmin would you recommend? Something with similar functions to the Versa would be good...

Hi @GrubbyDuck
I understand your frustration with the water logging I also have the same complaint.
However no tracker that does not have GPS built in is going to be able to track your bike ride.. how can it? There's no steps for it to estimate your distance etc. as your hand are still on the bike.
The reason strava works (on your phone) is because your phone has GPS. Ideally if you could turn back time a Fitbit Ionic would of been better suited as it has built in GPS.

@Tiggeriffic This is in settings: Versa - Quick view = enable.
@RobIgoUK I was stood in line the day Ionic was released. It was returned within the week due to hardware & software issues. Is this why FitBit offer them heavily discounted: trying too offload a product they know {sic} does not work?
I've spent too many hours in chat, on the phone, paying postage in returning faulty devices (postage I was never refunded) etc.
2019 at end of this years 1/2 marathon season? I am ditching wearing fitness apps or using a tracker.
I'm an IT support hardware/software/network consultant. Dysfunctional technology frustrates the living 💩 out of me. FitBit is right up there in my top 3.
