I have both and haven't been able to break from the HR as my steps are off on Apple Watch. Plus heart rate tracked more often on charge. Hope it works out for you
Please gang, I have two fitbit blazes because I hate having to miss a tracked night of sleep due to charging. If I can have two blazes then I can get a whole week out of the two and never have to lose any data, etc.
I have 2 Charge HRs with different color bands. I want to be able to sync both to the same account. Otherwise they should have the multiple wristband option.
Many users have asked how to have two devices, eg two charges on the same account.
You can't create a coloured range of devices as "fashion accessories" and not expect this. You want your blue for work, orange for jogging and black for sunday best... stands to reason.
Seems rather shortsighted to allow multiple different devices, ie have the tech to have more than one device on an account, however not if they are the same model.
Devices must be identified by MAC, or ID or S/N or something, so conflicting model names is a fairly sloppy problem.
Honestly, I don't think they care. This has been an open issue since I got my Charge HR over a year ago. I believe that they are counting on their customers to upgrade to the newer, more expensive devices that do allow you to change the bands. This whole situation with no reply from FitBit regarding intentions to allow multiple SAME devices really says a lot about FitBit and how they value thier customers. I hope my device doesn't break or that I don't lose it. Because like others, I will be changing devices with my next purchase.
– please at least let the community know, if this could be a feasible feature for Fitbit to implement in very near future, or if its newer going to happen because of hardware limitations or what not.
I have to consider another option if I cant have two Charge HR assigned to same account
I keep remembering @Maverickech's post, about how it's "frustrating to have $500 in trackers and not be able to conveniently switch back and forth."... I'm in the same boat!
I mean, c'mon...seriously??? Each tracker has a unique Bluetooth identifier - I've had both my Surges connected (via Bluetooth) to my phone at the same time, and was getting notifications on both, so I know it's technologically possible.
Please Fitbit, why do you refuse to implement a feature that would sell even more trackers, and give you a stronger base of returning customers??
Totally agree with teh feature request to be able to sync two of teh same model device to one account... I too was "suckered" by the promise of being able to sync multiple devices to one account as nowhere (easy to find) does it state that they have to be different models rather than multiples of the same device!
I just got the new pink Charge HR and was so excited to have another color besides the plum Charge HR to wear. These things are important - we need color options! However, I was shocked to discover that there isn't an option for multiples of the same type of tracker. That's just a dumb business practice. If you want people to buy more of your products ( = more money for the company, = more employed people, = a company that can compete with the glut of other trackers on the market), it's pretty silly and short-sighted not to allow us to do so. Certainly there is a way to name your devices like every other electronic allows you to do. I'm actually considering returning my pink one because there is no point in having it now. Please fix this so I don't have to return my new pink Charge HR!
Then please do something about it! For over a year, FitBit users have been requesting this rather simple update / fix. I think by alienating your customer base, you're likely to lose us to another platform and device vs. compelling us to buy your new trackers.
@MatthewFitbit As someone who has a career based in technology and reviewing a multitude of devices and apps, while I appreciate the distinction you are making between a bug and a design choice, it appears that you are mocking and trivializing the opinions / requests of your customers.
What would be appreciated by this community is an actual update as to whether this will be implemented or not, despite whether it was a deliberate design choice resulting in a multitude of unhappy customers.
Thank you, @NatalyaS, you beat me to it... @MatthewFitbit: I, too, work in technology, and one of my past jobs was fielding bugs and enhancement requests for a software company. While, technically, you are correct that this is not a "bug" (in the standard definition of bugs), I'm a little surprised to hear that this was "by design", because it really sounds like an oversight to me, but that's just my opinion. What's more important, I think, is that this is (obviously?!?) a shortcoming in the software that I, and many others, believe needs to be addressed. So I will echo what others are saying, and ask that Fitbit please fix this design-flaw/oversight/shortcoming/whatever-you-want-to-call-it!
@NatalyaS My comment was simply meant to offer clarity into the Feature Suggestion process. As you'll see in the status section of this request, it has already been reviewed and conveyed to the development teams for consideration, which is the first step in seeing it through to fulfillment. If this idea fits the larger development roadmap, it's possible that resources will be applied to it.
Keep in mind that what is being requested here is by no means a small change. Significant development, interface design, and testing would be required to make this a reality - as well as consideration of new troubleshooting scenarios and potential conflicts. As someone who works in technology, you'll recognize that we work with finite resources, and that each time we decide to spend those resources on a project like this, it means declining something else. It's important that those resources are managed wisely, to provide the best possible experience for Fitbit customers as a whole.
Votes and comments from our userbase are a huge help in making a case for this kind of idea and showing the developers that it is indeed worthwhile. You'll see plenty of evidence of this system right here. We'd simply ask for continued patience and understanding that it takes time for an idea to become reality.
I'd like to hilite something from my post on March 25th, of the reply I received from MelissaFitbit, who originally reviewed the suggestion, agreed that this was a good idea, and submitted it to the development teams: "At the moment there aren't any plans to implement this option"
This does not say to me 'this will be addressed in a future version, please be patient', it says to me it's not going to be done.
I still do software development, including mobile app development, testing, and deployment, so I understand that this isn't a minor change, and can be challenging with limited resources, but lack of communication from Fitbit on this has been frustrating, to say the least (it took me following up with the moderator to find out that this will probably not be addressed!). The reason I'm pushing this, is because I think the request needs to be resubmitted, and reevaluated, using all the posts in this thread as the business case!
@SpidermanBob That statement simply means that we have not yet announced any plans to move forward with this, as indicated by the status at top. It doesn't have any significance on the likelihood of this idea being implemented in the future. As soon as there is any news to share on this, it will be communicated here.
How can we have 2 of the same trackers sync to one account? I have 2 Charges in different colors and would like to be able to switch them during the day or on different days without having to replace one or the other. Please fix this and make it possible!!
I want to be able to sync two of the same device. Bummer that it has to be two different types of Fitbits not two of the same model. What if I wanted different colors?
