Idle Alert

I would love to have an "Idle Alert" feature added where the device would vibrate if you've been idle for a certain length of time.

I'm really quite annoyed by the lack of "idle reminder". I was, literally, sold this product because of it having this function. I then thought it might be in the "Premium" area; only to be disappointed once more. Please can this be an upgrade; soon.

I am surprised the flex I bought does not do it, which tv commercial was it then, the one with a woman sitting at work and got alerted by her bracelet to stand up and walk around?

Taking the thoughts of others, I set about setting up alerts to find you can only set 8 alarms; so if you set one for the morning, weekdays and one for weekends there are few left. Certainly not for a day. I had been recommended to have such an alert by my physiotherapist but now feeling mugged!

This really needs to happen, I almost switched to the Garmin for a get moving reminder.

This would be great! I have a charge, and set an alarm every hour to remind me, but you are only permitted 8 alarms.  My work does not permit cell phones or outside internet use, so I can't merely alter the alarms to continue my notifications.

Yes please add idle alert to fitbit flex!

I would love to have an idle alert also. I, like many others, sit at my computer working for hours without realizing I haven't gotten up and moved all day. I would really love this for the Charge HR.

I guess in the mean time I can set a repeating silent alert but I can't name it nor does it address my idle frequency.

Even we couldn't have it "sense" when we've been inactive for a certain period of time, a greater number of alarms would allow more frequent reminders.  I would certainly sacrifice battery life for more effective and practical alerts.

I too would love to have an ideal alert for the Fitbit Flex

Pls consider adding idle alerts, etc. as soon as possible; UP Jawbpne has this feature (and a couple others), its almost a deal breaker for me...

We are told that sitting at our desks for long uninterrupted periods is potentially so bad for our health that it's considered the new "smoking" problem.

I would like to set a regular short buzz "beep" to go off every 30 or 60 minutes during the day to remind me to get up and stretch my legs.  This would work better for me than trying to guage my inactivity level and has the advantage of being straightforward to determine.

The intermittant alarm could be used in other contexts as well, such as to remind you of the time spent on each project (some efficiency experts recommend a periodic alarm).

The intermittant alarm should be constrained to a certain time window, such as 8:00 to 5:00 M-F.

The surge should vibrate if you have been siting to long and tell you to get up and move for a little bit

I have been wanting this feature or awhile too-- time interval alarms, but based on (in)activity. Sitting is the "new cancer" many have said, but especially recently some CEO of a company I will not name. Generally it will shorten your life span and cause long term health issues. I have been reading every article about this I have come across, and the minimum general recommended remedy is standing up at least every hour. There are times when I'm sitting at my desk almost all day without getting up. My FitBit knows when I've taken steps and when I haven't. And now that it "automatically" starts sleep mode, it knows when I'm not walking but not sleeping = not active. It would be great to have an alarm reminder not just every hour, but within 5 minutes of every hour that you haven't been active. Make it happen, FitBit!

This is a cool idea, we will definitely pass the idea onto the team for consideration.

Just set an alarm if you know you're going to be sitting for a while. When I'm sitting in the office for 8 hours a day, I have an alarm set for every hour so I can go take a 5 min walk. Keeps me align with steps, and keeps me alert and refreshed at work. Just a thought.

An idle alert will make the Fitbit Charge HR the best wearable health tracker there is!

I was told that the fitbit ChargeHR had the ability to sense when you were idle for too long. I have had this a day and nothing. I go online to see how I can turn the feature on and the fitbit hr does not have the feature. So I will be returning the product. UNLESS there is a way to update it to have this feature.

FFS! I ditched my $150 jawbone for a $350 (Australian) Surge, and it doesnt have something as basic as an idle alert? Guess I will be returning pretty soon 😞

Please add an Idle alert to the Charge HR. Before purchasing fitbit I had a Jawbone Up24 - I ended up having to return it because it broke after only a couple of weeks. The Idle alert was the one thing that I loved about my up24 that fitbit doesn't have.

Please add another vote for an idle/sitting alert for an adjustable time period during certain hours of the day for the flex wristband. It would be office hours for me, but could be different for someone else.  There could also be a non-idle daily challenge.

This is could be a life changer for many.
