Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

Unfortunately I lose track of what was posted and in the last 2 days I must have had 25 responses, so forgive me same here for what?

I no longer recommend fitbit to my family & friends. I had the exact same issue and when I let the moderator know I had posted on Amazon too I got a message saying that that post was taken down because it was considered defamatory. Talk about blocking freedom of speech! It is outrageous.

I found the notifications beyond annoying.  Worse yet is it took over6 months to get them to stop.  I kept trying.  Once they stopped and then resumed again in two days.  Finally I got them to stop permanently (I hope) this past June.  But I cannot delete them from my iPhone, they are  taking up space.  By now, because of this and other issues I have with Fitbit, I'm sorry I didn't get a Samsung smartphone and a Samsung program similar to Fitbit.

It looks like all our posts could be in vain (am I slow in figuring this out?).  I read the policy which we had to check in order to express our objections to not being able to delete the notifications.  IIRC, the policy said that users of the Fitbit cannot complain about anything (or something to that effect).  That's pretty lame.  It means that Fitbit can do anything they want, no matter how outrageous, and there's nothing we can do about it in dealing with them.  They may eventually regret this stance.

One can only hope so.

Please please allow deletion of many many notifications.   This has been a problem for over two years according to all the requests.   It’s a shame we can’t delete these unless we close the account and try another source.

I’m done with trying to get the FitBit executives to allow us, the customers, to delete notifications. Can’t wait until my new Apple Series 4 watch gets here so I can flush my FitBit!!

Will that do the trick?

I just bought he Apple 3 in early August. Ugh! But I do love it. Dumped the Fitbit Charge. Didn’t want to stick anyone else with it!

Someone said they’d use an Apple Watch to scrub Fitbit. Not sure how that would work

Yes! Given that three-fourths of my messages are from men saying "hi" who have no record of exercise, list themselves as female, and joined the community in the last few days, it would be helpful to remove this spam.

It would be more than helpful. The ability to remove these should have always been mandatory and a no brainer!

The flag should clear when you look at a notification.  Every notification should be able to be deleted while in the app.

Yes they should clear, but the notifications don’t and have not for years. I turned off my notifications in November, but I seem to remember the flag disappeared as soon as I read it but the notification does not.

Sugar1924 is quite correct. The notifications do not clear. If they are intended to, then the feature is buggy across multiple platforms including PC and Android phone.

Thank you for the confirmation, but I do not think it is something buggy, Fitbit will just not program this into the app.

I seen this post but it doesn’t seem like Fitbit cares what the customers want. We should be able to delete messages! You also need to find a better way to organize messages. Talking to one person leaves dozens and dozens of messages. One message for a person is all we need, and the option to delete messages if we want. Why do we need to wait 30 days before they just drop off? Allow us to delete what we want, and organize the message area better. It’s sloppy!

Also, why doesn’t the state I live in have a group? It would be nice to connect with people that live in the same state. Maybe even narrow it down to location so we can exercise with people!

@soosiep you don't say if the message was taken down by Fitbit or Amazon?

Got it does not have the ability to remove your review, and you should not be blaming Fitbit for a decision made by Amazon.

What does amazon have to do with Fitbit?
