Trade in/Upgrade Program

I've been a fitbit user for a little over a year now, receiving one as a gift last Christmas. Now seeing how my flex is so behind the times, I would like to upgrade to one of the HR ones. However, spending another 130-150 is very difficult. Wanting Fitbit to offer an upgrade or trade in program to allow for this to be more affordable.

Hello,

Is there an update to this suggestion other than "Under Consideration"?

It has been nearly 5 years since the initial request was made. Why has there been no solution to this? Surely this is in Fitbit's interest too in order to work towards a sustainable solution?

As someone who has previously upgraded their Fitbit and wanting to update to a sense I would have loved to see this program in action. It seems like such a waste to not be able to send them back especially when you run out of people to give your old ones to. Considering Apple offer trade is I think it is quite silly that fitbit don’t. Please add this as an option, there shouldn’t be second thought to it.

I would definitely like a Trade program my Versa is a little over a year old with no issues or damage. It just doesn't have some of the features I would like that the Sense does. I definitely don't want to spend $200+ on a new Fitbit considering my is in very good shape. Some type of credit for my current Fitbit would help my decision to upgrade.

Fitbit needs to do a trade in program!

Please please consider developing a trade-in program. I have been using Charge HR2 for quite some time now and would like to trade-in and buy the versa. The trade-in program would enable us to also get some discount, while also being content on the fact that our older version band is not just lying at a corner of the house unused. Its a terrible feeling to see fitness bands being unused 🙂

Fitbit needs a trade-in program. I have a Versa. It is new, I just change its band. Whit the new features I have to charge it almost everyday. I would like to upgrade to a new versa, but I don’t want to pay the full price and through my Versa away. Trade-in would be a great option.

Are u listening Fitbit? We’d like to trade in and trade up. With all the
competition in the market and the call fir all of us to better stewards of
the environment , it’s seems like you would do your part and respond to
our requests.

It’s not like we are asking you to reinvent wheel. Cell phone companies do
it all the time

Yes, they do. Fitbit should be able to pull this off.

That would be great. But I know our request was moved to "considering"
some time ago.

A Trade In program would keep consumers interested and allow us to easily upgrade. My Versa is barely over a year old and with all the updates I'm charging it also everyday when it was supposed to have a battery like of  4 days.

I really think that the exchange/return policy for Fitbit should be reconsidered, ESPECIALLY when you drop a new version. If I purchased an older version within 90 days of the new version coming out and I HAVE NOT opened or used my new fitbit yet, I should be able to exchange for the new version and pay the difference in price.

Hi @caymae. Thanks for sharing this suggestion about having an exchange program to pay for the difference on a new Fitbit device with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. A trade in program would be great. I've been with fitbit since 2012 and having a bunch of old fitbits laying around is getting old. I currently have the versa 2 and its not even a year old, and now I'm getting emails to upgrade. I would love to upgrade but adding another expensive fitbit to the pile doesn't make any sense.

I am a charge 3 user for about a year now and with this year's Fitbit sense launch intrigued me; but my charge 3 is working perfectly fine. With no  ore further firmware upgrade for the device (I guess so), I think I would like a trade-in with the new Fitbit sense.

I don't check my email daily, but I did yesterday and I had 3 separate emails with the subject "upgrade". For a tiny tiny moment I got so excited because I thought they finally made finalized this. Nope they sure haven't, however I can upgrade of course for like I think 300 dollars give or take a couple dollars. So yeah, I'm just gonna keep mine until it breaks I guess. I love their products and I  om not saying that are not worth it but with the situation I'm in, just like so many others I absolutely do not have that kind of money laying around and if i did believe me I would probably be almost done Christmas shopping for children. Maybe one day I will be able to afford to upgrade amd it not hurt me financially but I do not see that happening absolutely NO time soon, not that kind of price tag any way. But I do still adore fitbit.

I got their response to a tweet saying that their trade-in program is under consideration..

We need to support this move and get maximum no. of votes to this forum and comments from everyone...

Please share this forum with every Fitbit user you know and we might get an exchange sooner.

Yes, the current 1300 votes is less than 0.1% of fitbit annual sales, we definitely need more votes to get their attention.

Super like the idea of trade , probably high time go make upgraded fitbit purchase  an easy choice , having charge 3 ,i want to upgrade to versa asap and a trade in will help me save some extra bucks plus my charge 3 wont lay wasted .

Hope the trade in programme whenever its effective will be made worldwide feature

Dear Folks, please spread the word; we need to get a trade-in quickly. This forum is "under consideration" for very long. Share it on social merdia and with every Fitbit user you know...

Under  consideration for way too long ..spread the words and votes both

@LizzyFitbit

Hey Lizzy.

Any idea why is this taking so long to decide? This suggestion is still "Under consideration" for over a year despite getting so much response and votes. Why is it not being released?
It's pointless to replace our devices with the new ones when the old ones are working fine, but with no further firmware updates, the devices seem outdated even though they work perfectly. At the same time, the organization can always use the sensors and parts from our exchanged devices to use them for new production, which would definitely encourage energy savings and protect the environment and might help in reducing the prices as well.

It benefits the users as well as the organization. I don't see a single flaw in this.. Please enlighten...
