I think that Fitbit must fix this so we don't have to go through converlooted solutions

ugh... I tried the steps above (except that I never get a "call bank" option anywhere in the app... tht must be something specific to Australia -- I'm in the US) ..

Now, my Sense 2 is stuck in a continuous cycle of rebooting/updating... I get the little fitbit logo and progress bar... and eventually it shows a big red X and then starts over again with the progress bar...

It's rather amazing how thoroughly messed up this product is... guess I'll be calling Support again... and they'll probably have to send me yet another device (this is already a replacement because the first one failed due to a water leak after a couple of brief swims)

what a mess 😞

I'm not a Fitbit expert, but try holding the button for 10 seconds to
restart it or shutting off your phone's Bluetooth so it can't update to see
if it changes the watch's rebooting process.

Just bought watch and having #1 issue described above.

Had no issue with Sense 1 and Fitbit Pay. Added multiple payment methods with no issue.

ugh... after more than a week, I now get this "helpful" message from Fitbit support:

"Hi Larry,

Thanks for troubleshooting with us.

We reviewed your account and found out that your Fitbit app isn't updated.

In this case, please update your Fitbit app and then try to access your Google Wallet.
Please let us know if your device still won't work so we can investigate further."

Of course, I've been running the latest version of the app (which I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple timnes) -- 3.80 since it came out.   I don't know what kind of "review" they did of my account... but if this is the best they can come up with after a week, their troubleshooting staff is a joke.

Sorry Fitbit... my app is updated and Wallet still doesn't work ... just like it doesn't work for lots of other Sense 2 users out there.... read your own forums once in a while 😞

How infuriating that Fitbit are still making their customers troubleshoot a known issue! Also infuriating that there is STILL no moderator on this page.

The only thing I can think to do (which I have done several times), is to get on their socials as much as possible. They don't like it one bit.

It's basically false advertising that you can "pay by watch" when you clearly can't and there seems to be no resolution in sight!

Seems to be working now, I was finally able to access the Google Wallet settings and add a card.

did not work for me

Not working for me either.  Also, they screwed up my data again, it's crashing when synching the application.  Only fix I know of is to make a new account and abandon my data.

Reddit gets the most attention imo.

Still no resolution for me.

The external reviews of Fitbit are abysmal.  I blindly trusted this brand because I understood it to be Google.  I can now see why the Sense 2 doesn't have Google Assistant and a broken Google wallet.  Not even Google wants to deal with their chatbots.

Payments functionality used to be working on the Sense 2 and all other models of Fitbit. Trouble came when Google acquired the company, and replaced proprietary Fitbit Pay with the Googles own wallet app, via a compulsory software update. Ruined everybody's watch overnight.

Did'nt work for me either. Still same error message - contact your bank

That's not an error message, you really do have to call your bank. They would have received a request to enable mobile banking payments but they need you to call to authorise, there is no verification code.

I am currently using "Fitbit Pay" feature on my Sense 2, I can only add one card during the setup process and sadly cannot add any.more..

I also received an email saying paying by Google Wallet is coming soon...

The only way you will preserve the paying ability is by disabling automated updates. Do not update - you will loose the pay functionality 100%.

Yes it is an error message. I have contacted the bank (we all have) and our cards are authorised. It's part of the glitch with Google Wallet.

Google Wallet is on my iPhone Fitbit app but not on my Sense 2, only Fitbit Pay. I am able to make payments with some cards and am able to use a card that wouldn’t install on my Sense.

Maybe Fitbit pay is actually using Google pay?

On another note, I have two cards that are in my Google Wallet but cannot be added to my Sense 2. This has me wondering if they would work if Google Wallet was on my Sense 2 vs Fitbit Pay.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Roy

I tried adding a supported HSBC AU card.  Fails at the end saying contact your bank.  But I was on a call with the bank and they said nothing is coming through from fitbit/google.

Seems like False advertising to me.

...Frustrating...

given that a lot of us either had older devices that worked with Google Wallet... or like in my case, actually had a Sense 2 that worked with Fitbit Pay BEFORE returning the Sense 2 for unrelated warranty service... has anyone tried setting up their watch with a totally new Fitbit account and seeing if that works?    If I can get over my disgust at the thought of doing YET another factory reset and going through that whole process again, I may give it a try.

------------

Latest thing I've heard from support is that I should update to version 3.81... which apparently has been rolling out since May 2nd and should be available everywhere by May 9th (tomorrow).   As far as Google Play on my phone is concerned, 3.80 is still the most recent version 😞

Has anyone actually seen this new version yet?   Any luck in resolving any of the Sense 2 / Google Wallet issues with this version?

Assuming this is real, I'm hoping that maybe this version will finally fix stuff that's been broken the past few months... at least for payments.
