UPDATE: The fix posted by the Fitbit Team Member has resolved it for me. Working normally now.
EARLIER:
I also spoke to soon. It seems intermittent. I have found what I think is a workaround, unless it has actually been fixed
@fastfrank - For now... Settings > Display and Brightness > Autolock - Set to "Never"
I am still OIS 15.3 because I have an IPhone 7.
Fitbit keeps crashing when I try to open.
I checked the dashboard on web site and it is updating.

I’m having the same issues with all crashing. Tried everything even calling fitbit. No response. Emailing. No response. Chat no help. What’s happening? Is it time to buy Apple Watch
Best AnswerGood morning. I experienced the same thing. I am no expert but mine is now working. See if these steps might work for you. 1. Go to settings. General. Iphone Storage. Wait till all the information for Iphone Storage to fill in. Scroll down to Fitbit. Select Offload App. Then Delete app. 2. Turn phone off then back on. 3. Re-install Fitbit app. 4. (This next step was the last step I tried and I believe it made the difference.) Turn off your WiFi. and just use your Data plan. 5. Make sure your Fitbit (in settings) is set up to use your Data plan. 6. Then open your Fitbit app. 7. If it is working, Mine did. Sign back in. follow regular prompts. 8. Close app. Get back on your wifi. 9. Sign back into fitbit app. I hope this helps.

Best AnswerThe app is now starting and not crashing. I performed three starts, 5 minutes apart, quit the app each time. All three succeeded. I navigated to different parts of the app; that worked. I checked https://downdetector.com/status/fitbit/ and I see the problem started last night around 2:00 a.m. pacific and reports are now decreasing. I don't see how apps can be pushed that fast, so I suspect FB broke the protocol that the app uses to communicate with FB servers.
I usually charge for software test and analysis. I am not thrilled to be doing this for free.
Hmmm, that workaround didn’t work for me. The app has been really glitchy. May need to explore new devices…

Fitbit app opens for a second and crashes. I have followed suggested solutions but they do now work. Help!

I meant to say solutions do not work!
Best AnswerI am having this issue too. I deleted and reinstalled the App but nothing changed. Interest it does loads when I turn off WIFI. However, when I turn it back on it vanishes again. I think it worked when I was just on cellular. However, I can't verify that as I am no longer in cell range.
Thanks that worked, even after I reconnected to wifi. I had to login in though to my account, but that is OK. Great advice.

This message is at the top when I log into fitbit.com "We're aware of an issue affecting some Fitbit devices and are currently investigating. Check back later for shorter wait times." There's a longer thread on this topic.
Best AnswerSame with me - have tried deleting and updating app and still crashes upon open - i can't even use the workaround now (turn off wifi and mobile data and sync phone via bluetooth ) as of course i am no longer logge in !! Dooooh
Update - have managed to install old version of app on an old ipad mini and have that syncing with charge 2/5
Further update - have upgraded Iphone IOS to 16.3.1 and now all is working - I was only one version behind so clearly Fitbit developers on't test on older versions of IOS
