I have epilepsy and it is very important that I maintain an average of 7 hours of sleep per week.  Now I can’t monitor it because Fitbit decided to remove the average in favor of an indecipherable “Sleep Score”. Please make displaying the average hours in the list again.  For my health...

How on earth did you find this?  Fantastic!  Though as you said it is remarkably hidden and Fitbit should bring back the average hours to a more visible spot.  But thanks, you really saved me!

What OS?  Apple or Android?

My app is Apple. If you have Android then the only way I can think is to logon to the website. If you export the data the hours are there (the export option is under settings)

This help article explains how to export data.

You can see the hours and minutes for each day in the breakdown below the graph before you expand to full screen. At least I can - Charge 3, iOS app v3.5 (I saw the issues people had and have ignored the update)

I don’t see the weekly average.

Very odd.  I have an iPhone XR and a Fitbit Versa.  Just updated my app.  Same result... the stupid sleep score,  Thanks though.  BTW there is another easier in app solution to finding out your average hours (per other posts on this thread).  Swipe right once on the graph to get to the hours view, then expand.  Average hours is at the top and you can get history all the way back.

I’ve also found the information on hours slept is still on the website dashboard - a plus of development of the app having a higher priority.

On my website dashboard I have the sleep tile showing and that shows time asleep. If I hover below the tile and click see more the graph for the last month and then the breakdown you used to see in the app show. No sleep score details. Yet.

In your dashboard you can also export your sleep data https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1133/?q=dashboard+export&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1

You may want to comment on / vote for the following which I’ve found around this.

The idea to make sleep score optional is “Under Consideration”, Hot and Recent and has 677 comments on 26 September 2019 https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Make-sleep-score-optional/idi-p/3611214 so as I understand it Fitbit will look at it.  Do vote for it / add a comment if this is something that you would support. Not every feature suggestion will benefit every user but this seems to be the way we as users can tell Fitbit what’s important to us.

Hours slept can still be seen in the iOS app and dashboard on the website for my Charge 3.

I’ve posted this before but there are still new comments being added so maybe someone won’t be aware so posting again. Also some additional information I've found that may be useful.

Not as good as it being there as it was but in case this helps.

The old graph that shows you how many hours you have slept is still there........  when you first go in to your sleep screen it defaults to the sleep score page.......swipe the graph/screen from right to left and it will show you the old graph.

For average hours slept you then go into full screen mode (click the two arrows) your average hours slept shows.

The breakdown below shows the average hours slept on the left below the graph.

Thank you. I still don't see the point of the score system. How do they work out a score? Different people have different needs. I work shifts and am T1 Diabetic. I noticed that it was having an effect on me but can't for the life of me see what is happening with this system. I've always been loyal to Fitbit but it's nearly stopped me using it. Luckily you show me what I need is still there but why hide it. I really doubt anyone has use for random score now - please bring back an average

Hi everyone. Thank you for your feedback about the new Dashboard and sleep area. At this time you can vote for this to be optional in our Feature Suggestions board. The more votes an idea has the more likely the developers will try to implement it.

Let me know how it goes.

Yes, the graph is displayed, but it no longer shows my average hours for the week. It shows the average sleep score on every page. What I value most in the app has been replaced by something useless on multiple screens. Please bring back the average hours slept.

Totally agree.

I will trash my Fitbit after using Fitbit devices for five years if they do not allow you to look quickly at average sleep hours per night.

This new “sleep score” is total crap.

The lady who answered the question above is not correct.

Swiping from left to right only shows you the number of hours per night fir the week; it does not show any average whatsoever.

Your answer isn’t an answer to all users frustrated by the new software not showing average sleep per night.

Your answer just shows you a graph with hours of sleep each night -/ not “average” for week that appeared instantly before software change.

Guess I will by a Garmin.

Click on the graph and you get the average for the week. Can go back as many weeks as you want and also look at it by month and year.

The problem is ...not finding an average sleep “score”. Many of us need or prefer an average of actual hour average....responding to the Moderator to request the sleep average did absolutely nothing...no changes with the update neither.

I’m finished with Fitbit!!  I’m replacing my Fitbit with an Apple watch!!

Best Answer

1. Swipe right on graph once

2. Click on graph

3. See your average hours in bold print on top of enlarged graph.  Swipe left to see past weeks.

OR

buy Apple Watch and don’t track your sleep at all because it has to charge all night...

Your choice...
