If you are still experiencing this issue, we would love to investigate further. The following would help our team review:
We appreciate the additional details.
Fitbit Update 07/16/2018: Hey everyone -- We have just released an update to the Fitbit app for iOS, version 2.53.1 which we believe resolves the issues with food logging that have been reported in this thread. Please update to 2.53.1 and let me know of the results so I can quickly communicate that to our iOS team.
Again, thank you for your continued patience as we worked to get this resolved ASAP.
Update 7/15/2018:
Thanks everyone for your patience on this. We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been affected by this issue and have been working hard to find a fix. We are preparing to roll out an update tomorrow, July 16th to solve the problem. In the meantime, customers can use the food logging feature in the web dashboard: https://www.fitbit.com/foods/log.
Update 7/14/2018: We do realize this is a critical issue and our team continues to work on the cause and a fix. We don't provide timelines, in case something occurs and it can't be met, but we hope to have a resolution soon. Thank you again for your patience, reports, and cooperation.
Update 7/13/2018: Hi Everyone - we definitely do hear your reports and frustration on missing and strange food logs. Our engineers are still investigating and I hope to have a resolution shortly.
While not ideal, you can log on Fitbit.com food log and it will populate on iOS correctly once you sync. You can log it here. We appreciate your cooperation. I'll continue to update this thread as I hear more.
Update 7/12/2018: Hi Everyone - thanks again for your reports. We are actively reviewing this issue and I'll continue to update the thread as I hear further. As a workaround you may want to log your food through https://www.fitbit.com/foods/log. As mentioned in @sreid64's post, it will populate the iOS app correctly. Thanks again for your patience and reports.
Update 7/11/2018: Hi Everyone - I've merged a few posts together. We are currently investigating issues with food logging on iOS version 2.53. Please continue to monitor this thread for updates. So my Fitbit says I’m running the older version of the app (2.53-770) but when I go to the App Store the app says “open” rather than update... any idea?

Make sure you delete the previous version first, then you should be able to download the latest update.
Best of luck
So glad it's finally working again 🙂

The food seems to be inputting correctly; however, it is still not calculating correctly on the total calorie count.
UPDATE:
When I just went back in it updated the total correctly. Thanks!

Just updated my phone (iOS) as well as the FitBit app to the recommended version. I have unfortunately seen no change in the issues regarding food logging. It’s been a progressive issue over the past week, now to the point where almost everything I enter either does not register at all or it registers as something entirely different. Not sure what to do from here.

Same problem here. App is updated but still not working. It’s aggravating to try and log chicken breast and get some crazy biscuit at 1090 calories or no entry at all. HOPE THEY FIX IT ASAP

I seem to have potato and macaroni soup for breakfast every morning 😝
I went out yesterday for a couple of hours, instead of getting 2680 steps I got 2 hours sleep in the middle of the day?!?!?

@Sak24 wrote:After the latest update of the app, inputting the food does not work. I searched on here before calling and saw that several people had the same issue. Thought maybe it must have been a virus or something. So I waited. But it's been days and there has not been a new update or anything. Is there something I can do to resolve this issue? Or is Fitbit working on it?
Here is the fix for it.

Heya... I don't know what y'all did, but the food database is all kinds of fracked after the last update.
Foods from my recent and frequent lists when entered for the day suddenly become something I've never even had.
For instance; Total 0% Yogurt, Plain by *F@ge* is listed correctly on my frequent and recent lists, and when I select it the nutrition profile is correct.. however, as soon as I save it as part of my meal it suddenly turns into Fruyo, Greek Nonfat Strained Yogurt, blende with Vanilla, which besides being something I would never eat (because I hate vanilla flavored stuff), is the wrong brand and a completely different nutrient & calorie profile.
I tried the Baby Carrots by Grimmway Farms on my list, and they turned into Tortilla Wraps, Vegetable by Grimm's
(edit add) I then tried to re-enter the foods by using the barcode... again, barcode read correctly, but they became something else when saved to the log.
So, uhm... how the hellion do I roll back this not-so-fabulous update? I had no problems with this feature before. (ios 11.3.1)
