On my Versa 2 the app has recently started shown the same data for consecutive days. Shows 7034 steps today, 7034 steps yesterday & 7035 steps Monday. The previous days are correct. If I close & restart app it sorts out, but after an hour or so problem back again.
On line chat support say restart app (which I’d told home I already had), resrtatt phone, turn off Bluetooth & repair, delete app & reinstall then setup again. Done all that but doesn’t fix.
Anyone else having the problem? Any suggestions?

I’ve seen this answer multiple times and this issue has been happening since back to April. When will this be fixed???

I'm having the same problem. My Fitbit is logging too many steps and showing the same dada for consecutive days.

How can you call this an answer??? You literally say we're aware of the problem and working on a solution. That is not a solution in and of itself. You have provided no actual solution and yet have marked this question as Answered. This issue has been happening since April of this year and 4 MONTHS later, you still have no solution? I was not having this issue on my Sense that stopped charging a month ago, but I wanted to try the Apple Watch. I didn't like it, so I bought a Versa 4 for $200 and set it up only to find that I can't actually track my steps (the CORE function of the dang device!) on my brand new watch. What the heck is going on at this company? Does Google actually think that if they tank Fitbit's reputation with poor product and poor support that anyone would actually switch to a Pixel Watch??? Not a freaking chance! All they are doing is creating die hard NEVER-PIXELERS.

Yes I’m having the exact same problem. I’ve had the exact same number of steps show up for the past 5 days.

Last June, my fitbit battery died, like many of the other folks, when I updated the software. It rendered my Fitbit useless. So I took it in stride and bought a Charge 5. I spent $170 on it and have had an issue with it now since May as well. There is no solution being offered. I reached out to customer service and I asked for a credit to trade this in for a Pixel,if that is a better supported device, and they said no discount. I asked for a refund on my Fitbit that is one year old and hasn't been working properly for several months. They said no. I asked what is the proposed solution? They said to reach out to technical support. I said there is no technical solution being offered or known at this time. The customer service rep asked me if I was there and cut off the conversation. I am greatly disappointed in this response. I am a Google fan usually. I have YouTube TV, Google Drive, Google Home, etc. And then with this glitch it feels like the company doesn't care that we are getting ripped off. Really is shifting my perspective about this company. I don't think the competitors would act this way. Apple watch - here I come! Amazon is looking like a caring company now. What?!

I also have seen many times that zero steps are registered, often when I am nearing a step goal.
When I check it to see if the goal was completed I see no change in the step count.

So @CJRSF you are also seeing the steps stop registering when close to a goal! It is very frustrating for me because I am disabled and have to work very hard to get my steps in. And when I am close to the "Hourly" goal and the time is near the end, I have had times when I did more than enough steps, yet do not get the goal registered as achieved.

That’s great, but I want It to work the way it’s supposed to. ☹️ Thank you for the workaround!! 💖

@Sublme437 I agree 100%! It is a shame that Fitbit does not take repairs seriously. I have seen that Fitbit has many bugs, so I started pushing other options to see if I could get it to show the info I want to see. When that fails, I close and open the app. Sometimes I have to close it for a while, and then when I open it again the correct info is there. For example, the Activity Readiness Score often has no data, and it takes turning the app off for a while to get it to show the data.

As of this last evening 8/23/24 mine has mysteriously returned to normal and data for past dates I had recorded elsewhere is accurate.

Unlike your usual “warm welcome” to users who are complaining about same steps on consecutive days, I am wishing you a “warm goodbye.” You win. It doesn’t work and Fitbit won’t fix it. Registers accurate steps for today and prior day but all other days show today’s steps. Adios. Tossing Fitbit now, thanks to you, and using something that actually works

Having same problem with Fitbit 5; every step I take today transfers to be steps taken every day all week.
