Sleep benchmark comparison not working

Sleep data is recording ok, my sleep stages are recorded, my sleep data shows up on app and can compare to 30 days average with black dots to indicate averages but when Benchmark is chosen only my last sleep stages night data is shown in a line graph BUT no shaded area is apparent indicating averages for others in my age group.

Using a Versa 3 Fitbit and iOS app on Apple SE 2020 phone . Does anyone else find the same, it only happened since the app layout seemed to change recently, no problem with old layout? Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, upon further review it is just the benchmark screen that is missing the comparison info.

Hi this morning i noticed that there is an update to the fitbit app - really disappointed. On the sleep dashboard, when clicking on “benchmark” - It no longer displays the  NUMERICAL % RANGE for each sleep stage. According to support, this feature was removed in the update. If support has access to this community… Please bring BACK that feature - it helps people figure out where they fall in that rage - just a colour graph with a shaded area means nothing without a numerical percentage range for each stage. Consequently would anyone have the percentage numerical range benchmarks for women in the 55 age category?

There is no way to opt out. We were never given a choice.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.

Thanks for the detailed information and for taking the time to troubleshoot the Fitbit app. I'm sorry for the inconveniences this has caused.

I'd like to inform you that the issue with the benchmark tab not showing the shaded area has been escalated to our team, and they'll work to get it fixed. I truly appreciate your feedback and once I have more details, I'll make sure to update this thread.

By the way, you can find more information about the new sleep detail screen, check this article. If by any chance you have a different comment or question, please start a separate thread in the Help Forums to avoid misunderstandings.

Same here - no sleeping benchmark any more. This app is almost useless now. I finish using it. Fitbit sleep record app WAS the best among others, now it is not.

I generally look at my sleep results versus the benchmark everyday. Now it doesn’t work and the graph looks terrible.  So frustrating when a useful app gets changed for no apparent reason  other than to keep programers busy.  Now looking for alternative products.  Any suggestions?

This is a horrible update. It's hard to read the sleep stages information.  There is no percentage or gender information on the benchmark data. It's awful. Very difficult to understand the graphs. Why oh why did we have to have an update when there was nothing wrong with the old one. But hey what do we know we just buy Fitbit!  I fear Fitbit may lose customers now.  Come on Google sort it out.

Yes circle part now missing on the update. Also the nice colors.

That's what I was afraid of.  The benchmark ranges are not the kind of info to put behind a premium paywall since it is easy to find the ranges.  The overlay on the old display was just a convenience, not something involving Fitbit's own research.  And many us bought a second or third fitbit with the expectation this part of package that comes with it.

I have the same issue. Frustrating

Anyone else missing sleep comparison data under the Benchmark tab?  My data is shown but no “Typical range for people like you” (photo of screen included). Customer service opened a case … came back and asked me if I had a picture of what that screen looked like before!!!

Yes please Fitbit please bring it back! Who in the world is updating these is surely not a user. The last few updates have been horrible. Visually the sleep stages are more confusing, and they’ve taken away the benchmark percentage range-WHY??

Same here, exactly the same problem using Android. This "upgrade" is more like a downgrade. Hope they fix it soon. Oddly, it's not a problem on my wife's older iPhone. Go figure....

Hey Sprod, consider yourself lucky. My sleep recording is a complete mess. It shows that I slept yesterday from 9 pm to 11 pm., which was ridiculous, because at 9 pm I was busy in the kitchen, washing dishes and cleaning.  But instead it didn’t count my sleep this morning from 8:30 to 10:30am

Yes!  No more shaded area and range.  Now mine shows a percentage and minutes/hours with a line below it with a dotted boxed area over the line defined as "typical range for people like you".  Also, colors are dull, not attractive at all.  I am really disappointed in this update and surely hope Fitbit corrects it.  Why can't we be given an option to these changes?!

I have exactly the same issue.

It's clearly a software bug in the app and I'm glad that you brought it to their attention so it can be fixed.

It's a bug in the app software.

The data label is below the bars on the bar chart, but the limits are not superimposed on the bars as they should be, and were before the app update.
