Step streak reset to zero on iOS Fitbit app

My streak was broken 8 days ago despite me not having failed my step goal. I believe this was caused by me lacking internet connection so the app not updating with my full steps. I would like to resolve this and restore my streak.

Hi Lizzy,

I had a 721 day step streak and now it says only days despite the record of me meeting my goal every day in the app. I tried the steps you listed to no avail. I have an iPhone XR with iOS 15.7.

please help! I was not updating anything but did recently return from an overseas trip, but reached my goal on the travel day.

Thanks,

Chuck

There fixes don’t work. That’s why I’m done with FitBit. I’m getting a Garmin for my next watch.

Mine reset to 4 again yesterday lol I think it is the third time it has reset in the last month, you suck Fitbit

I had mine reset to 4 yesterday as well, despite being on a 260+ day streak and came here to see if anyone else encountered this and how to fix.  I’m so disappointed to see this happening to so many, and that some of you experienced it more than once. As an avid exerciser, I’m astounded to see my own motivation be so impacted by the erroneous reset.

I too have tried all the steps listed above to no avail.  No recent updates or change.  I’m using iPhone8 with 15.6.1 OS    FitBit please fix this and be better

I am one week away from hitting my 365 day goal and it reset to 4 for no apparent reason. I sync every day, had internet all week and did not do a software update. I even had covid this week and made sure to get out and walk at least for a bit to hit my goal every day. While I don't need the step streak banner to know I hit 365 days...I was looking forward to taking a screenshot of the banner and posting about my accomplishment to encourage others (ahem free marketing for Fitbit). This obviously will no longer happen. A fix to this should be simple since the data is all there about hitting our goals every day.  My Fitbit was free so I'll keep using it but knowing there are these issues (that are not a priority it would seem from this year long thread) I would not buy one in the future

I feel the same. I’ve been trying to get my days up sense I broke me a streak of 355 days, but this feature has been so glitchy I can get over 30 days now. It’s really disheartening especially after you put in the work.

It’s annoying that these type of responses are the only feedback from Fitbit that we see. It seems like this is a very big problem with a lot of your users and Fitbit isn’t doing anything about it. We have other options. Make it seem like you care or my next watch will be an Apple Watch.

It is sad that so many of us are so disappointed and frustrated. You’d think that FitBit would notice how many of us are thinking of going to Garmin or an Apple Watch. I want my FitBit to work!!  Dang it FitBit take some ownership and some pride in your product. Make it work!!

I agree I have been a Fitbit user for 5 years. But it no longer works reliably and it’s the app (I would suspect) that is causing the issue and not the watch itself. So you would think a fix would be possible but it doesn’t seem so. And the forums suggest they aren’t in a hurry to fix it.

I get up to 14 days or so and the app puts me back to 4 days - there is clearly a bug in the app and sometimes it is zero days, but most often 4.

Me too! I submitted a support ticket and they replied they were working on it, but then they closed the ticket without a fix. The moderator on another thread said the issue has been escalated and developers are monitoring this thread.

Developers: My case, and via email, I provided screenshots of data and other details. Since the ticket, My step streak was broke legitimately on Oct 7. My new streak is 10 but the app says 4, so I have reset in error yet again. Actually it has happened several times since the ticket was opened. During this timeframe, connectivity has been frequently poor or non existent for periods of time that sometimes exceeded a day or two, as such, syncing has not happened every day. As a developer, I know bugs can sometimes be maddeningly hard to find. If there is any other data I can provide, please let me know. As you can see from the posts, the step streak is hugely important to the community, as a point of motivation and pride. I just replaced my broken watch with a new Fitbit with the faith you will get this fixed. Please don’t let me down.

So much for fixing this issue.  Again, my step streak was reset and now only shows 5 x days.  Still haven't missed my goal since 11/7/2020 as previously reported.

Moderator:  If this can't be fixed, why not remove it as it is serving no use or incentive.

I and many others have an issue with Step Streak resetting even though the daily goal was reached.

It happened to me again and when I called the support line, I was asked if I had the latest version etc, etc.

This is a known issue which has been reported by many users.  It would be most helpful if Fitbit would provide a list of "Known Issues" and the status.  If they are too embarrassed to make the list public, then at least make it available to the support team so that they can reference it and inform the callers.

With my particular issue, I have not missed my step goal since 11/8/2020.  Today, my step streak shows 5!

I also want to add that I just checked my step counter and there are now 0 steps listed for large chunks of May and June 🤣🤷🏼‍:female_sign: I have been using Fitbit since June 2020 and have never had any issues with it. Nothing to this extreme. Was there some sort of app or software update that caused all these issues? It's very odd

Hi,  my streak was just reset twice in the last week. Each time it seems to reset to 4 days. I should be nearing a 2000 day steep streak but each day I get congratulations on my now 14 day streak. It’s been well over a year has there been any headway. Do yo know if ifs happening in the app or in the  Fitbit.com. If I look back in the app i never see a day with less than my 8000 steps no matter how far I go back.  I can’t be too hard to look at the goal and see how many days in a row it’s been met. I get many much more complicated stats each week in my weekly stats email. If it can’t be done in the app just include it there.

let us know if there has been any progress.
thanks

I wish I could believe that this will be fixed.  The code for it is not rocket science.

Mine just reset for the 2nd time. It reset to 8 days except 3 days ago I had 70something. In reality I should have 134. I was annoyed enough the day I actually missed my steps. My day count should actually be accurate.

Sent from my iPhone now that Fitbit is google Fitbit or Fitbit by google whatever they called them selves I’m thinking of calling google customer support because I’ve never gotten satisfaction from Fitbit customer support. No I wonder if anyone else has thought of calling google customer support and if they received help and a positive opinion of the Google customer support team.

You shouldn’t have to work that hard.  They should fix it because they care about their product and their customers….who seem to be dwindling. So disappointing.  If you do call, I wish you the best of luck

Can they just create a date entry for us and then allow us to be honest because this is really just for our benefit and motivation - this is behaviorally detrimental to motivation. You are losing a huge customer base. The new sense 2 would have been on my wrist already but not now because it doesn’t do basic counting of streaks.
