Hi

i upgraded from an iphone 6S to an 8 and now I can get silent alarms but text/call notification has stopped. I’ve tried resetting, deleting the app etc but no joy. I really need this function for work.

Hello @NerdyQueenB, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community! Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. Which tracker are you currently using? If you haven't tried yet, I would like to suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps in my previous post. If you have already tried them, my best recommendation would be setting up your tracker or watch as a new device to reset the connection between your Fitbit device and your phone. Don't worry, none of the information already stored in the account will be deleted.

To set up your Fitbit device as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I have not been getting call/text notifications for several weeks, probably after the 11.4 update, not entirely sure, I wasn't paying attention I didn't notice right away. With the exception of  a few, explained below. I had a 5s and was not getting them, I think it was after the latest iOS update. That phone $#@%ed out on me and I bought an iPhone 7, the first day (4 days ago on Monday) when it was all set up I may have gotten 1 or 2 alerts on my fitbit. Probably 1 that seems to be the case, so today I reset the fitbit and I got one phone call alert in, text would not work, but then a second phone didn't work either and then I reset again, and now neither will not work. Reset several times and what I noticed it will allow ONE notification phone call in and then won't work again.

  • Iphone 5s and 7 - neither are working
  • OS version running on your phone. - on the 7 11.4.1; and on the 5s 11.4
  • App version - 21.40.2
  • uninstalled ap and reinstalled ap; unpaired the device; reset the device; let the battery fully discharge (although that wasn't on purpose); new phone; changed settings and reset to allow notifications; restart phone, I have done everything I can think of.

Hello @CallaLillie13 and @rcolonna820, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board! It's nice to see you too @NerdyQueenB, thanks for taking the time to reply!

@rcolonna820 and @NerdyQueenB, I appreciate you have let me know your issue has now been resolved and that you're able to receive Notifications, I'm very glad.

@CallaLillie13, I appreciate you have let me know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. Tell me, when you restarted Notifications on your phone, did you receive any pop-ups asking you to "pair" your phone with your tracker or watch? If so, did you tapped on Pair?  If you did not receive any pop-ups, please go to your phone Bluetooth Settings and check if your device is listed under paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device. Then, restart your phone and try to set up Notifications again through the Fitbit app.

I hope this can be helpful, please give it a try and let me know the outcome!

Yes I re-paired it. Yes there was notification a pop up. I’ve got rid of the Alta from the app and reinstalled it also. I did both of those before and again today.

Most recently it was working for a few days (a day or two after my post) and then stopped. For sure once but I might have been a few times. And I hadn’t done anything since my postig, because I was waiting on a reply. And then it stopped working again now hasn’t worked for several days.

I have restarted my Charge 2, deleted and reinstalled the APP on Iphone 8 v12.0.1, paired and unpaired, removed from my phone then added it back, made sure notifications are on.....

I can not get text or phone calls on my Fitbit.

Not sure what I can do at this point! SO Frustrated!!

You cannot do anything, it seems.

This is a failure on Fitbit's part to provide their customers with a working product.

I have followed all of your advice. I just upgraded from an iPhone 6 to an 8. Since Monday it still has not worked. I unpaired then repaired, forget this device, removed the device from the app, checked everything from Bluetooth to privacy to do not disturb mode on. I love my Fitbit and am really sad it isn’t working with the notifications on it.

It’s been an ongoing issue for over a year. I used to love my Fitbit too and gave up after no one could help me. I e been happy with my Apple Watch ever since.

Use the button on your Fitbit and make sure notifications are turned on. Mine randomly turn off.

Hello @SunsetRunner, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. It's great to see you too @Flylta and @Foodnfungirl, I hope you're doing well. Smiley Happy

@Flylta, thanks for letting us know that you were able to get Notifications after checking your device by pressing the button on your Fitbit device, thanks for letting us know.

@Foodnfungirl, I'm sorry to hear that after troubleshoot this issue you finally purchased another model, I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you've experienced.

@SunsetRunner, I appreciate you have joined the conversation and let us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. Please note that Notifications skip or stop occasionally for several reasons that don't suggest a problem with your device or the Fitbit app, which is why I would like to ask you to check the following:

  • Your phone was too far away. It must be within 30 feet of your Fitbit device to transmit the notification.
For texts, you have the conversation open on your phone. Your Fitbit device shows new texts you haven't already read.
You changed a related setting on your phone, such as turning on Do Not Disturb, Quiet hours, or Driving mode. To double check all requirements, see How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
  • You're using another Bluetooth product. If you have Bluetooth products like speakers, headsets, or car stereos paired to your phone along with your Fitbit device, you may have trouble using more than one at the same time. For example, turning on your speaker might stop your phone from sending a notification or syncing. For more information, see Is the Fitbit app interfering with other Bluetooth devices?
  • The connection between your phone and Fitbit device is unstable. Bluetooth signals are susceptible to disconnecting or dropping occasionally.
  • The app that should send the notification can't do so. Check all the phone and Fitbit app requirements in How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
  • Your device was syncing. Syncing can sometimes prevent or delay a notification.
  • You just updated the Fitbit app. Restart your phone and try setting up notifications again.
  • Device lock is active on your Fitbit watch and you haven't recently entered your PIN. Tap your watch screen to see if the device lock prompt appears. If it does, enter your PIN.

If you've reviewed the list above and can't get notifications to work, please try the following:

  1. Force-quit the Fitbit app, then open it again and sync your tracker.
  2. Restart the Bluetooth on your phone once again.
  3. Restart your device.
  4. Refresh Notifications:
    • From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon
    • Tap Notifications.
    • Turn off all notifications
    • Restart your phone.
    • Open the Fitbit app and turn notifications back on.
  5. Set up Notifications again:
    • Tell your phone to "forget" your device, removing the connection between the phone and the Fitbit device.
      1. On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and find your Fitbit device in the list.
      2. Find an option to forget the device.
    • Open the Fitbit app and set up notifications again.

I hope this can be helpful, please give these steps a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
