Alta comes with the ability to set up and receive call, text, and calendar notifications on iOS and Android.
This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Alta, please see this help page.
- How do I set up call/text/calendar notifications on Alta?
- Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices.
- On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby!
- Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile Dashboard.
- Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap "Notifications" (iOS) or "Call and Text Notifications (Android) and then turn on call/text/calendar notifications.
- To verify that set up was successful, check out the list of Bluetooth connected devices on your mobile device. Your Alta should appear.
- How do I view call/text/calendar notifications on Alta?
You can view your notifications when they come in by using Quick View or by double-tapping the Alta where the band and tracker meet.
Notes:
- For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App.
- Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or selected 3rd party app on Android.
- Windows Phones do not support alerts at this time.

My Fitbit Alta does not show the name or message when I'm getting a text. The name comes up o phone calls but that's it. I have a Samsung Galaxy 7. I have went through all the steps from the app and website but nothing is working. Is this feature compatible with my phone?

FYI I just got my Fitbit Alta and I have a Samsung 7 phone. I initially had issues with not receiving my text messages, phone calls, etc. I did the trouble shooting and set my notications and location on both devices. Once I did that and made sure the bluetooth was enabled on both devices I had no more problems. I hope this helps.

to Fitbit.com you can check your comparability. I would think it is but
that site will confirm it.

Any idea when my alta will be able to display notifications, I use a Google pixel and have no intention of changing phones...I have verified the compatibility and I guess the pixel is too new or the alta is too old. Help me out.

@JujuW123 @Tiffiney1980 I recommend checking out the troubleshooting workflow in this help article. Let me know if that helps get you back on track or if you get stuck at any particular step in the process.
@Lgirlhere Hmmm, have you tried logging out of the app and then logging back in and trying to go back into the "Notifications" menu that is getting stuck? Let me know if that helps get you back on track.
@LadyJ0522 Awesome news! Glad you found the help article troubleshooting content helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience.
@Samanthajaine Unfortunately, WhatsApp support is currently only available on Android. I recommend voting for this existing idea in our Feature Suggestions board to make it compatible with iOS. The more votes the idea receives, the more likely it is to be considered for implementation in future releases.
@Matthadder I don't have a timeline for when the Pixel will be listed as a compatible device as it needs to be fully tested with our app by our Android team before being added. In the meantime, you can give this setup flow a try, but it isn't guaranteed to be fully functional with the notifications feature until listed as supported.

I have a new Alta I bought about 3 weeks ago. I have an iPhone 6s, and notifications worked great til about a week ago I stopped getting the notification that my step goal was reached, and now today text and call notifications are not showing up. I've verified that my settings are correct, and even removed my Alta from my phone and reconnected it, but still nothing. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a problem with my Alta?

I also find that the vibration on my new Alta HD for notifications is barely noticeable. I have missed notifications and reminders to move because of this. I thought I might have an Alta with a defective vibration motor. SO I ran the test that is suggested... (plug it into the charger and press the button). The vibration is much stronger in this case. So I'm not sure why the notification vibration is so weak... Maybe it is due to the length of the vibration? Please make the vibration stronger (same as when the charger button is pressed). Otherwise the notification and reminder to move features are useless.

Mine did the same thing but it was because I turned off my preview and notification in my message app. Once I turned that back on I started seeing text on my fitbit.

Ohmigosh, you're a genius! This actually worked to fix my text vibration on my Alta issue!! I have switched preview off on my iPhone and I am finally getting the vibe again after multiple emails with Fitbit. If anyone else is having issues, give this is a go. THANK YOU!!!

I have deleted and re set up twice, restarted 5 times AND deleted off Bluetooth and reconnected twice. I can not for the life of me get this thing to vibrate notifications. All notifications turned off and on multiple times. I don't know what else to do. It will NOT vibrate or give calls, messages or "get moving" notifications. HELP!

I just got my FitBit Alta and I love it, but sadly it won't connect my text messages from my Google Pixel. I've already got the app, but can this be added as soon as possible please?

I can't understand why someone would say something like that. That's got a big problem and enjoys being a coward behind some text. Ignore it and it may go away
