Alta comes with the ability to set up and receive call, text, and calendar notifications on iOS and Android.

This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the Screen Shot 2016-03-08 at 11.29.29 AM.pngcontent of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Alta, please see this help page

  • How do I set up call/text/calendar notifications on Alta?
  1. Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices
  2. On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby!
  3. Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile Dashboard.
  4. Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap "Notifications" (iOS) or "Call and Text Notifications (Android) and then turn on call/text/calendar notifications.
  5. To verify that set up was successful, check out the list of Bluetooth connected devices on your mobile device. Your Alta should appear.
  • How do I view call/text/calendar notifications on Alta?

You can view your notifications when they come in by using Quick View or by double-tapping the Alta where the band and tracker meet.

Notes

  • For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App.
  • Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or selected 3rd party app on Android.
  • Windows Phones do not support alerts at this time.

Is the fitbit Alta HR compatible with LG G5? I'm not getting calendar notifications and I just received from one text messages app. Example, if I select whatsapp as primary text messaging app, I don't receive notification from other messaging app as Messenger or Messaging. Please advise me!

How do I pick up text messages on my iPhone 7 Plus with Fitbit alto hr

I have found that you can only have one messaging service set up. I have not found a way to have both Whatsapp and my main messaging service. However my phone notifies as well as one message app.

Your Alta notifies you when you get a txt? If so, you’re the first person
I’ve heard of that does! I only use messenger on m iphone6. I have never
been able to get txt messages to show up on my Alta. Any advice?
Thanks,
Julie

How strange, have you emailed help at Fitbit, they are very good and should be able to help you.

Oh yes. They told me it was a problem for many people and they hoped to fix
it in the future. A year later and I’m still waiting. It’s very frustrating
as this is one of the top reasons I bought this product.
Maybe I should contact them again......
Thanks for your encouragement.

I realized that if you hold the button in on the fit bit (charger2) it says notifications on or off. This is how I get the text on my fitbit. Make sure the options for notifications are on.

Julie,
I have no idea what the problem could be. That's very strange. Hopefully, someone else will give you your answer.
Good Luck!

On the Fitbit app, go to the picture in the top left corner for device settings.

Click on notifications, there is an option called ‘display’. Change to ‘sender and message’ rather than ‘sender only’

hope this helps 🙂

Thanks for the info, but I don't remember asking about this. I know I responded to someone who did ask why they weren't getting their notifications. But thanks anyway 🙂
