Update 5/1/20: This issue has been resolved with the release of 3.19.2. Please update your app if you haven't already.

Hi everyone. We’re aware of an issue that may cause the Fitbit app to quit unexpectedly when you open the Exercise tile.

To fix an issue where the Fitbit app unexpectedly crashes when you open the Exercise tile, follow these steps. Note you’ll need to log back into the Fitbit app with your email address and password.

  1. On your phone, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage.
  3. Tap Clear Data.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and log in.
  5. Be sure to accept the requests for your phone to access your location, notifications, and other settings.

Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. I assure you that our team is aware and working on finding a resolution. I will be sure to keep you all updated as more information becomes available.

This sounds like you are being affected by a known bug. Keep an eye on the following thread where Fitbit are posting updates:

I went to  app manager, open ed the fitbit app,  cleared the cache and cleared data,  did a forced stop and restarted my phone and it's  all good now.

This morning when  I did this it made no difference.

This has just started happening to me today.  Was there a fix reached yesterday?

You shouldn't lose your exercise data as this is backed up on the FitBit servers.  Depending on your Phone / Network connection it may just take some time to re-sync.  If you look at the other posts on here, you'll see that others have applied the fix and haven't lost their data.

Yes, cleared data and re-installed app, no change.

Walk the same walk every day it says I walked a mile & I haven't.  Every day it tracks it differently.  Not working right. Now when I tap on exercise on the app it stops. Please fix this. My versa 2 is only 5 months old shouldn't be having these issues.  Please help

Hi. I wanted to know if you lose the app data when you delete it.

I've had the same problem and have done force stop and delete cashe, but still can't log or see exercise. I'm nervous about deleting the app or data because I don't want to lose it.

Only use app on Samsung Note 8, no other device linked.

Thank you

Fitbit team - good morning this crash anomaly has not been fixed yet team. At least not for my account. Do we have a new ETA for a fix? Thanks for your time.

Have done as suggested and all working now.  Data is loading up after logging back in.

Cleared data again just now and can now see workouts, still missing EOV in Sleep Score though.
