Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Compatibility

Just got the S8+ yesterday, but my Blaze no longer receives notifications from my device. I've reset the Blaze, removed it from my account, gone through setup, restarted the phone and Blaze, uninstalled the app, and every other troubleshooting recommendation on the forums. All permissions are granted. No luck. Everything else syncs. Is this just a compatibility issue?

This should be not marked solved, majority of the users still have issues. I have yet to be able to receive any kind of notifications from my GS8+ and have a lot of trouble syncing. I bought the blaze earlier this week and will probably return it and get a Galaxy Gear. Very disappointed in Fitbit that they can not properly address issues with the latest Samsung phones.

I finally noticed that notifications was turned OFF in the notification menu screen on my Charge 2, even though I had it enabled in the app. Sync. didn't fix it...

After turning notifications on directly from my tracker, I am now receiving notifications again!

Battery life is still an issue for me. I have been patient but seems worse than ever now. How do I get longer battery life.

Try turning off "All Day Sync" in the fitbit app itself

This is a confusing message. Top section says the s8 is on the compatibility list, bottom section contradicts the first statement.  I don't find the S8 on the list.

My apologies,  I did see it in the list at the bottom. I thought it would follow the S7. Still a bit confusing message.

Haha, you say that the Galaxy S8 was added to the compatibility list yet nothing works except steps and HR. The Blaze has Bluetooth connectivity issues, GPS does not connect and I'm not getting notifications pushed to my phone. Just don't understand why Fitbit would push an update out with these kinds of issues still on the table. maybe I should come down there and show the people coding the back-end how it's done. My point is don't go live on an update until ALL the kinks are ironed out.

(Note) yes i have tried everything in the book to resolve this already.

[nicks75] This is encouraging. Please continue with your daily updates. I am hesitant, still, to get the S8.

The phone is fantastic I recommend it highly ..i have the S8+ just bought the Blaze yesterday ...they say it's compatible..but I cannot receive ANY notifications and I cannot get any straight answers! 4 hours I tried last night including a call with customer service who told me to go exchange it for new one and see if that works...i highly doubt I picked a defective one off shelf...i don't think they are compatible..

The Samsung S8 will be not be supported as they are focusing all their efforts on the iPhone and are abandoning the S8.  Kinda sucks.  Battery drain issues etc are all there and I have given up with the app completely.  Which is a huge step back.

@Gunnerp245 Still going strong. Syncing, getting notifications, haven't charged it for a couple of days and it's still showing "medium" battery. I did find that I had to turn off "All Day Sync" though, otherwise I was charging it every day and a half or so.

Still so many people having trouble with it on the S8 though, Maybe I just got lucky!

Hi. I have heard that others have had luck with uninstalling the Fitbit
app and then reinstalling it. At least this works for some Blaze owners.
Best of luck to you!!!

I have been trying to use my bluetooth to scan for my charge hr but it doesn't recognize it. It doesn't show up and my tracker is on with full battery. I uninstalled my fitbit app then reinstalled it but nothing. My HR is already on my fitbit app but my information will not sync, due to it not connected to blue tooth.

I didn't realise this was a major issue - originally thought it was me not following the instructions properly.

Bought a Blaze in February and it sync'd with my Samsung S6E no problems .. even got notifications to work.

Upgraded to Samsung S8 with the following

- unable to pair properly/fully

- no notifications

- GPS not working

Andriod version 7.0

Blaze version 17.8.401.3

Bluetooth version 5.0 (?)

I have tried several times now:

- used the web app to remove the Blaze device

- deleted the app from the phone .. rebooted

- re-installed app

- re-installed notifications

and still won't work.

I have 'paired' the phone (added security number) during the re-installs but the Blaze device will not appear within the list of 'paired devices'  remains on 'available devices' list. When I try and pair by selecting from the available device list, it says 'pair rejected by Blaze'

Notifications are appearing on the phone - I can get the text placeholder but no messages are being passed to the Blaze device. It says All caught up No notifications'. When I swipe downwards from the main screen, it says notifications ON

Connected GPS not working. I get a 'phone not working' error message

Blaze is Fitbit's flagship tracker and I feel they must get this fixed ... especially if they are about to launch a smartwatch based on the Blaze device

Fitbit Support/Developers: There is a long litany of unhappy & frustrated customers asking for an update to resolve this issue

Please let us know what is going on otherwise people will get turned off !
