Syncing w/Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

My fitbit app wouldn't work with my new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Marshmellow) due to syncing issues. I just reset my fitbit (plug it into laptop/wall charger and hold button on left side for approx 10seconds until fitbit symbol appears, then unplug it). App worked instantly! 🙂

Bought my Charge 2, 5 days ago. Worked for about 2hours and it's been a nightmare to sync since then. tried everything, re-pairing. whatever, tried on a brand new laptop W10 with bluetooth, nothing works.

If your Windows 10 laptop doesn't have Bluetooth, you can order a dongle from Fitbit for about $20; that should solve your issue.

I'm very disappointed with my fitbit. The constant effort to sync was
rapidly running my phone battery down. The 2 parts I'm most interested in
besides the record of daily steps (logging sleep time and the silent alarm)
will be missed, but the stress of repeatedly trying to reset the fitbit
is getting old. I would not recommend a fitbit to anyone or give it a
high rating.

Well Fitbit, it has reached that time. in June I commented about this issue, and had even found a fix, even if it was only a temporary one, I did get people saying thank you and I was happy to help. I had more recently found myself in a new situation. More often than not, my tracker would not sync up and i would reset (loosing any data not transmitted of course). So, as I received my wifes and my Fitbit's as a gift, I was very happy and more recently put up with connectivity issues. But now, I found myself at the point of replacementment. Guess what, its not a Fitbit product, WHY, because of continued issues with no resolution in site. I have purchased my wife the samsung gear 2 and myself the gear 3 Fronteir. This decision was 100% due to the poor ability to keep your current equipment working. Why would I spend my money to purchase another of something from the same manufacture that cannot keep what I have working.

Keep this in mind Fitbit, it will be a cold day before I ever consider another Fitbit product. Not because you hand an issue, but because you seem to be failing at fixing or communicating a way to fix it.

I wish you the best

A lost customer....

@Niquaa sorry to hear that, personaly i know to many Fitbit users , most had ut before it was ifficialy certified, with S7's to beleive it is a general error with the phone..

My feeling is to treat it as a temporary sync, but fixable problem.

What a crap product!   Do not buy the Blaze, if it cannot sync to one of the most popular OS's for phones what good is it?  Sick of my blaze not being able to sync to my phone. Sad.

Hello, @towerjoeMan Very Happy Thanks for joining us. I'm sorry to hear that you feel this way because you are not able to sync with your phone, you can check all the compatible devices for your to sync with on this list, also remember that you can always sync with a computer or laptop.

@Robin121, Welcome aboard! HeartAt the moment the Samsung S7 Edge is the only one officially compatible, however this doesn't mean that it will not work at all, have you tried to download the App yet?

Hey, @psupatti! Welcome to the Forums! The solution marked in this thread, explains that even if your phone is not on the list of compatible devices, this doesn't mean that it will not work sync at all, Depending on your device, all features may not be fully functional, but some others could work! So why don't you give it a try following these steps

Hello, @Jayze! Welcome, welcome! I'm so glad to hear that you are back on track now. Sometimes after the firmware or App updates, everything works better, because this is the purpose of the updates, to fix small bugs and improve some other features. Thanks for sharing what worked for you also, I'm sure this will help others too. Heart

I'll be around! :}

It took some time but I'm getting all notifications on my S7 Edge.  I don't know what exactly flipped the switch but caller I'd, text and email notifications ate coming through.  I set my notifications for contacts and messages to push to lock screen, made sure they were allowed and setting look ok in app settings for my phone and then checked the fitbit  app to make sure it was pointing to default for contacts and messages and that in the app notifications was also turned on.  I don't like getting emails do to spam but they were coming through too when I had the setting same as contacts and text messages...i turned them off using the app notifications setting for fitbit.  It may not be on the compatible list but notifications will work if u have the time, patience and luck to click all the right settings both in ur phone settings and the fitbit app settings
