Delete friend messages

Can u delete messages from friends?

I have no idea. My issue was deleting the red notification balloon that appeared on the Friends page. Hopefully someone else can help you with your issue.

someone posted awhile ago, that if you Logout out of the account and log back in, the old messages that look like new will change from new to read.

Go into account via your phone, log out and then log back in (don't forget your password) and it should delete message back to 30 days. Since I've done that it has been deleting message properly.

Logging out works for both deleting message 30 day or more, and removes the red notification popup at the bottom of your screen. I found that it only works if you do it from your phone.

under account...scroll all the way down, and logout.  You just have to know what your password is to log back in

I contaccted Fitbit last month and was told that the friends messages would automatically be deleted after 30 days -- still not happening.      It shows that I have 115 unread messages on my ipad and 22 unread messages on my iphone.       I have tried several times to delete -- but it has not happened.   The unread messages go back 355 days.

The following process worked for me in deleting friend messages (and the
annoying notification red balloon):



. On your smartphone, click on "Account" (bottom right of home
screen)

. Scroll all the way down to "Log Out"

. Click on "Log Out"

. Note: you will need to have your Fitbit password to log back in

. The Friend Messages SHOULD be gone

Go into your account on your phone and log out of Fitbit, log back in and that should delete all message up to 30 days.

HI I have tried tolog off and sign in mutiple times and my messages are not erasing . I saws earlier in other responses it takes up to 30 days. I think that is a lame feature of this fitbit as we have no control what our friends may send us in messages. Not happy here.

It would be helpful if everyone includes type of phone and operating system (with version number). the FB app is very different on different devices. For example on my iphone 6 with iOS 9.1 simply logging off and back on does not solve this issue. Neither does removing your and re-adding your tracker or removing, rebooting and re-installing the app itself.

when reporting an issue give as much info as you can about the incident and the device it happened on.

It's like sending your local car repair shop a request for an estimate and saying how much to fix my car?

Fitbit. Update the app so we can delete the messages whenever we want.

I went back to Fitbit 'messages' and read, so went to accounts page, all the way to the bottom, logged off, (remembered my pass word) and logged back in the old messages are gone and the new ones only go back 19 days - YEA!
