For all my Chats, Challenges & Laughs peeps! Since we can't get on the threads I thought I would start a discussion area for us. We may not be able to keep track of points standings easily but we can still talk.
I miss you!

Curious about your new job, too, Steve. Sounds like you are busy, not lazy. I was going to say 'lazy like me', BUT today I got started on emptying out the attached garage. I'm close to done (a lot just got move to my craft room, but at least I'm getting all the stuff in one place to deal with lol
Wed - it's be the usually 3 pts. WW is helping so that I am logging consistently which also gets me on the computer so I'm posting and water is a consistent habit now. Think the logical 4th pt should be steps. It's time since the first three are definitely habits now. My steps are set at 10,000 for when we were moving. I've gotten acouple of 8,000 but mostly under 5,000. So, that is my rest of July goal.

I have 3 jobs... Wegmans meat dept 35 plus hrs... During school season got 2 stage builds for local HS. I volunteer at BlackFriars theatre. Local theatre. Next show is 25th annual Putnam county spelling bee. So when i get home it is over feet up and chilling. Last Sunday wife and I went kayaking near Lockport NY on Erie canal. I average 3 pts a day

Definitly busy and not lazy Steve.
I like your approach CJ - you got this!
Good to hear from you Antigioni. I know what you mean about hubby being an enabler. Mine does the majority of the grocery shopping and cooking. As much as I ask that he buy and prepare healthier foods, it's almost always high fat, high sugar with him!

Wow - What a busy, interesting life, Steve!
Worked on my sitting room today - about 3/4 done with first sweep through. I am going to have a ton of stuff to do this winter 🙂

I'm sorry that I've been AWOL lately. I post on my Kindle fire but since I downloaded a jigsaw puzzle app, I go straight there instead of here. I have been reading everyone's posts in my email but I haven't been contributing.
I'm planning to go to water aerobics in about an hour and that will make 10 consecutive days with at least 30 minutes of exercise.
My eating has been up and down. We went to a party yesterday evening that was outside and luckily the food was inside. I did drink a soda but I took my Yeti cup with water and drank that.
it sounds like most of you are on track and I'm glad to hear that. Even if we make the best plans, life always gets in the way. Hopefully we are developing habits that carry us through those rough times. It also helps to have this group that understands out struggles.

Wednesday 4 points, Thursday 2 points... The fighting going on here is ridiculous. Hubba Bubba decides to give me the silent treatment. Oh well. I can hold out way longer then him.

Great work on the consistent exercise, Elaine.
Hope Hubba Bubba has gotten over his whatever. I can't imagine having a family to raise along with a job, husband, everything ... hang in there.
We couldn't sleep last night; my allergy coughing, wheezing, etc. kept us awake. We got up and then went to bed at 6am until noon. Retirement is a OK when you can work around your body's schedule instead of a job schedule.
I've eaten 30 pts worth; only have 10 weekly point left until Monday. We did get the trikes (3 wheeled bikes) out and air pumped up. I could still get in and out of it (which I was nervous about - it's been over 2 years since I rode it). Once it cools down, we'll wheel around the block. My gut is huge sitting in that position, but I'm doing something about it so I'm OK with letting it all hang out. I am what I am - today. I'm also wearing sleeveless shirts (will be my first time out in public today) and I'm letting it be OK, too. I guess I never wanted to disgust people with my fat - felt like I should cover up to be more 'presentable', but that didn't hide the fact that I'm morbidly overweight - it just made me hot. Let people judge me / think what they want. I am equal to a thin person and they can't look away if 'they think' I'm disgusting.
PS - Friday 3 pts

Friday = 2
Starting weight - 214 (June 2015)
2019 SW - 199
Lowest weight 180.1 (7/13/18)
LW 193.2 (6/29/19)
CW 194.4 (7/6/19)
I'm actully relieved that the weight gain wasn't more. After two days of virtually no activity and terrible food choices I thought for sure I'd be up 2 or 3 pounds. Already hit my Saturday step goal. Went to the park after my WW workshop and walked 3 miles. Thanks to the inclines I also managed 19 flights of "stairs". The thermestat in the car on my way home showed 83 degrees at 10 am. With the humidity as high as it is I am soaked.
Good for you CJ - I have my moments when I don't give a darn what others think and go sleveless and other times when I still feel the need to "cover up". While part of this journey for me is to improve the way I look, it's more important to improve the way I feel and even more important to improve my health!

I played golf this morning, and like Margaret, I was soaked when I got done. 77 active minutes, temperature was 78, but the humidity was high. My socks needed to be wrung out when I took off my shoes!
Now I'm going to pick up my brother and we'll meet our cousin and family from Ohio for sightseeing and visiting. And I'm wearing a sleeveless shirt!

Well, we did go on our first ride last night. 17 minutes. But, I did put on a cotton button down with 3/4 sleeves; BUT, I kept my shorts on. Tonight wore the same thing. We rode around town for 30 minutes so I could get my exercise in. Yay! We get a lot of looks and comments - think we are the only ones in town with the trikes. People seem to think they are pretty cool, so I guess they are noticing the bike more than me (I hope). Will have 3 rollover points for into tomorrow. Worked on my room again today; about 95% done for the first run through. I can actually get up tomorrow and go in there and doing some morning meditative reading 🙂
Sat - 4 pts / logging, water, posting, exercise

Hi Everyone, I've been super lazy this 4 day weekend and now it's time to get back into stuff - packing for my trip, doing laundry, and oh yeah, I'm having tiling and painting and repair work starting on my third floor tomorrow. I've got a lot to get ready before bed tonight!
Margaret, an icebreaker is a huge milestone. I remember being so nervous that my sweaty hands smudged the ink of my notecards and in practice, I dropped them and got them out of order so I tied them together with a ribbon so they'd at least stay in order! Remember that everyone is nervous their first time and that's okay. One part of the program is learning how to overcome the nerves and still be informative/persuasive/entertaining on stage. The primary objective of the icebreaker is to get over the first one - do it just to do it. It also helps to establish your baseline so that you can grow and improve. Some things that I learned along the way:
1. You can everyone something about yourself. You can tell someone everything about yourself. What you can't do is tell everyone everything about yourself. So don't try. Instead, I recommend picking a general theme or topic and focus on that. For mine, I decided to use my silver charm bracelet to tie 3 stories/life lessons together. I selected 3 charms that I'd collected at a "moment" in my life where I learned something, described the charm, described the circumstances the "before and after" of me. What I learned and how I changed as a result. I titled it "Charmed I'm Sure".
2. Try not to speak to the audience as a hole. Pick out a friendly face - maybe your mentor or the TMOD that introduced you and speak to them. Then, pick out another someone and speak to them. Continue that way. It's easier than trying to speak to a room full of people if you just speak to one person at a time.
3. I found it helpful to start getting excited about my next project BEFORE delivering my current one. That way if I screwed something up, I didn't dwell on it. I just harnessed that energy to apply to my next speech. Note - you will have times when you want to be hard on yourself for doing something wrong or not doing something right or forgetting something or just not pulling off the impact (such as laughter) you had hoped. The experts say there are 3 speeches each time you take the stage - the one you plan to give, the one you do give, and the one you wish you gave. Resist the temptation to beat yourself up and cheer up - that which doesn't kill you will make a great story to use in a speech some day about how you have grown from the beginning!
4. Evaluators are humans too and as such, they can be wrong. Run all feedback through your own filter - does it work for you, would the suggestion bring your speech closer to your vision, etc. I've heard a lot of evaluators say something I flat out disagree with about my own speeches and about others. Once, for a humorous contestant, they recommended a costume. I thought a costume would make it "silly" but wouldn't highlight the point that the speaker was a fish out of water in the particular scenario and recommended the exact opposite. A suit was better in my opinion. I've also been disappointed by "weak" evaluations that didn't really hit the mark when I knew something wasn't right but didn't know how to fix it. Just take the good and leave the rest.
I'm sure you will do great and I can't wait to hear all about it!

I took a walk about 6:00 this evening so that I could keep my streak of consecutive days of at least 30 cardio, making today 12.
I have meals planned and shopping done but I haven't prepped all my produce. I have a list of things to get done tomorrow, but Hubby will be off work so I may have to entertain him. I already told him some of the things really HAVE to get done, no matter what he wants to do. Hopefully I can make progress in the morning and do something with him during the afternoon.
it's great to hear from more of the group checking in. I'm worried about Jan and hope things turn out okay for her family.

5 for Saturday
Thanks for the advice Catherine. I intentionally volunteered for a table topic at the last meeting to help prep me for being in front of the group. I have to do presentations periodically for my job, but they are almost always over the phone via skype - VERY different than being in a room in front of a group and seeing all eyes on you.

Sun - 3 pts. Was not able to go out biking tonight. I have a horrible seal cough and wheezing. Not sure if I was huffing and puffing and breathing so heavy going on hills that I got my allergies back or what. Guess I was never back 100%, but this is ridiculous. I may be going in as a walk-in tomorrow to see if they have anything for this. Very tough sleeping. I'm suppose to be going on a solo trip down to see some girlfriends this week. I can't imagine putting them through this hacking.

Hello, everyone! Sorry I haven't come back sooner, I was not feeling sociable. (Still not, but you all are friends, so...)
anyway. I can't remember how the point system works! But I logged my food and got my water, but didn't do any exercise but clean the house. That's three, what were the other possible ones?
Hope everyone is doing okay, and CJ I hope you get some help with that cough.
