I have only wonderful things to say about the new firmware update, but just now, I see something I haven't seen before on my tracker. A big battery with a circle and an exclamation point in the middle. My battery is at 18%. I usually let it go down to 10% or so and then charge it.
Is this the tracker telling me to recharge my battery or is something wrong?

My Fitbit is not down to 18% and won't be for a few days. I hope I can dismiss the big battery by pressing the button because I don't want to have to charge it right then. If it happens in the middle of the day, it's not convenient. Hoping...

Mine just did the same thing this morning... 18%. I didn't think to press the button; I just put it on the charger. Now to see what happens when it gets down to 18% again.......

Mine is still above 70% so will be a few more days. Will post when it hits 18%. I was told is an earlier post that pressing the button should dismiss but I not only pressed the button I did a restart which I would think would dismiss the symbol. Will wait & see.

While this may be expected behavior, I think most people’s post seem to agree that this is not a desired behavior. It was clear enough before that the battery was low because the icon showed on the main screen. This just seems to be another instance of Fitbit reengineering something that was working fine. (It’s right up there with the unnecessary notification that shows up every time you close the Fitbit app.)

OK, my Fitbit is finallydown to 18%. The big battery icon appeared. I pressed the button. I was taken to the Screen Wake/Notifications screen. Could not get out of it. Then, the battery reappeared. This happened until I had pressed the button for the 4th time. I was finally able to get to my clock face and all is good.
I don't especially like this behavior, as someone mentioned above. I find it quite unnecessary and even annoying to have to deal with.
Can it be removed?

Hi @Zelda410, @psjcal, @Godiva14, and @stricsh11! We appreciate your feedback for the big battery icon you're seeing when reaching the 18% of battery level. As mentioned, this is expected behavior, it indicates that you have 1 day of battery life yet. You should be able to dismiss it by pressing the button.
Let us know if there's anything we may do to assist in the meantime.

Also down to 18% yesterday & 2nd press of button did remove the notification. I agree re: expected behavior NOT preferred behavior. I do keep track of charge & do not need to be notified of information that I neither want nor need. This should be an optional reminder.

Is it usual that after you get to 18% and experience the battery with the exclamation mark which won’t go away that the Charge 3 will not charge again? I cannot believe that my Charge 3 only lasted for less than a month!

Zelda410. I think you missed the point about the charger not working. I have tried multiple USB ports and powerpoints (ones that all work with my daughter’s HR no problem) and it’s been on charge for hours - nothing. The #big problem #charge3 not fine!

@SarahMcS Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry for the delay in my reply.
Let me help you with your Charge 3 not charging and thank you for trying different charging ports. Try cleaning the contacts using cotton swab with rubbing alcohol, then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's USB port (try different ports) or use an UL-certified USB adapter. After this, restart your device and see how it behaves. You can follow these instructions to help your tracker charge.
@Zelda410 thank you for your help here.
Keep me posted.

@AlvaroFitbit thanks for responding. I had already tried cleaning the Charge3 and charger (not that they were dirty given they are only a month old). I plugged the charger into my laptop USB port and connected it to my Charge3. The battery symbol with the ‘!’ came up again. I left it for 3 hours. Unfortunately I cannot try the restart as my Charge3 is now completely dead
