Recently my charge 2 has stopped displaying my text messages. I will get a vibration notification, the message will pop up with the contact name who sent it, but there is no message displayed. This usually happens when someone sends an emoji, but now it is happening all the time. I have tried the following- resynching my charge 2 to my phone app, making sure all of my permissions and notifications are active. In looking through some past posts, it seems when this happens people are not even getting the contact name in the message.
I am at a loss, what can I try next?
I am using a Pixel 3 phone.

I have not found a fix yet. After posting this yesterday I found another post saying this is a known glitch and Fitbit is working on it (from early July). I unfortunately can't find that post again, I wanted to link it on here.
I have also tried various troubleshooting tips I've found on other posts, but nothing is working.

I am having the same issue. For the longest time my contacts wouldn't sync when someone would call, it would say unknown. This is back to normal and says the contact name now. For text messages, it will come across saying I have one and the contact name but doesn't preview the actual text message. I have checked all of my settings and tried rebooting the charge 2 and still no luck. This has been going on for about a month now and I have the Pixel 2 XL.

Here are some other posts I've found for this same issue. They say Fitbit knows and is working on a fix.

This bug seems to be affecting a lot of people and fitbit are looking into it. Keep an eye on the following thread where they are posting updates:

According to other people's posts, this problem may be resolved?!
Posts dated from yesterday say they have begun receiving notifications after an update. My app was last updated on 10/19 and I have not received notifications yet, and cannot update the app again yet.
Try updating your app if you haven't already. Let me know if it works!

I had to uninstall and reinstall my app, it just updated on Saturday and wouldn't let me update again. Everything seems to be working!
Just think it's ridiculous that this problem has been going on since JULY!!!! Seriously all you "smart" people at Fitbit?
But if you check the website now, there's a notice on the top acknowledging the problem with the ios notifications. So I have to have an iPhone to get your attention?!?!?!
Customer service 101 people!!!!
