My watch shows a small black line across the screen at the top, where the step count is on some faces and where the battery sign is when you open the stats.

tried resetting multiple times, doesn’t work.

I have a couple of black lines running through my screen, I’ve tried resetting it and I tried changing the clock face a few different times the lines are still there.

I notice that all these questions are from last year. I am having the same problem with my charge 3 and I have tried both rebooting multiple times and changing the clock face and nothing worked. What should I do next?

It is an annoying defect that Fitbit seem to have done little to fix.  If your unit is still in warranty all you can do is request a replacement, though be warned it may happen again.  To get your case raised you can email support or wait here in the chatroom for one of the staff to respond, which they normally do quite promptly.  Good luck.

If your charge 3 is less than a year old, call FitBit customer service and you’ll get a free replacement. If older than a year, the Charge 4 is coming out April 13.

Unfortunately the initial charge 3 was purchased February and the 2 replacements I’ve had since then have both suffered the same fate!
I hope that the charge 4 has ironed out the issues that the charge 3 clearly has!

That’s sad. I bought mine in July and only had one replacement. I pre-ordered a Charge 4. It has upgrades that the 2 & 3 don’t have. My 2 worked great but I took up swimming and the 2 was not for water.

I did exactly the same thing. Bought and used an el cheapo from China, worked well, never let me down and had a blood pressure monitor. Sure enough I decided to buy a Fitbit since they were so highly recommended and I have been greatly disappointed. First I found no BP monitor which I need, then the straps were giving me contact dermatitis. After trying a couple of very over priced straps from Fitbit I found one on Ebay for $10 au to fix the problem. Now its black lines. What garbage. I have lodged a support job with them for a replacement. One thing is for sure, I will never buy another Fitbit.

I am also seeing this issue and have only had my fitbit for 3 weeks. I tried changing the clock and rebooting but neither worked, and more lines keep showing up as time passes 😩

FYI. I lodged a complaint with Fitbit support. The gave me instructions on
how to reset the device, which I tried a number of time. It didn't fix the
problem so they are replacing my charge 3. Might be worth your while.

I believe I read that if your fitbit is older than a year, they don't replace them. I hadn't attempted to call them for that reason. Was yours newer than a year old?
Thank you,

It will also depend where you bought it.  I
understand that anywhere in the EU they must replace faulty goods
for up to 2 years.

Martin,   According to the ACCC website you
should still be covered by the automatic Consumer Guarantee which
isn't limited by the manufacturer's warranty period.  Worth
asking.

Good Luck.   Dave

I am having this problem as well. I've restarted my device several times, and have changed the clock face as well. The black line remains.

Thanks but I tried. This is my 3rd one with the same probem and now that it's out of warranty they are only offering 25% off another one. So they want me to pay more money for something that they obviously know us a flaw in their product. I'm going Samsung.
