Has the screen dimmed after an update or something? It used to be bad, now it's almost useless.
Normal is ok if I cup my hand over it.
Auto works, but is still really dim in bright light.
Dim is non-existent.
It didn't used to be like this. Been horrible for a few weeks.

I keep checking back here in hopes that FitBit will have actually done something about this problem. But no luck. They replaced my first Charge 3 when it was still in warranty . I could read the screen outside on the replacement for a few months, but eventually got dim. Tried all the suggestions, but like the first one nothing fixed the problem. Can't read the time outside so basically I have to wear a different watch . Whether they are aware or not, FitBit reputation has suffered from this well known problem. If this was a car, there would have been a recall.
I think the best alternative is to turn off the auto brightness. It seems like an update (or something) has caused this very dim screen. I had become frustrated with cupping my hand over my watch in the darkest shade, but now that summer approaches I couldn't see anything. I read the one post where you can go into the settings on the actual watch and change brightness. I'd rather see it than max out my battery life. I'd tried the bitmoji face, but the reloading of different versions of mini-me throughout the day consumes a lot of battery. I'm trying it on max brightness for a few days and then we'll see how it goes.
