Charge 3 Display - Dimmer Now??

Has the screen dimmed after an update or something? It used to be bad, now it's almost useless.

Normal is ok if I cup my hand over it.

Auto works, but is still really dim in bright light.

Dim is non-existent.

It didn't used to be like this. Been horrible for a few weeks.

I've restarted my watch - but clock face remained very dim.

So I changed the clock face via the app on my mobile.... And it worked!

Very relieved....

I keep checking back here in hopes that FitBit will have actually done something about this problem. But no luck. They replaced my first Charge 3 when it was still in warranty .  I could read the screen outside on the replacement  for a few months, but eventually got dim.  Tried all the suggestions, but like the first one nothing fixed the problem.  Can't read the time outside so basically I have to wear a different watch . Whether they are aware or not, FitBit reputation  has suffered from this well known problem.  If this was a car, there would have been a recall.

That’s too bad to hear because they are not cheap.

Although there have been no intentional changes, it sure has affected a lot of people!  I tried a reset and a clock face change..  no luck . :*(

I think the best alternative is to turn off the auto brightness. It seems like an update (or something) has caused this very dim screen. I had become frustrated with cupping my hand over my watch in the darkest shade, but now that summer approaches I couldn't see anything. I read the one post where you can go into the settings on the actual watch and change brightness. I'd rather see it than max out my battery life. I'd tried the bitmoji face, but the reloading of different versions of mini-me throughout the day consumes a lot of battery. I'm trying it on max brightness for a few days and then we'll see how it goes.

I found by going into settings on watch face swipe left and go into settings there is brightness and I was able to fix mine.

There are many issues here with a dim screen. Waste of money!

Did the recommended reboot. Did the reboot within the options. Can barely read data in the darkest room. Useless in sunlight.

Since this update my screen has completely stopped working. It still reads
steps, but requires charging every day now and I can only get information
from my phone / the app.

I’ve restarted mine multiple times. It doesn’t help. This thing is pretty useless now.

Did you go to clock face and slide left til you see settings. Hit settings and you will see brightness put to normal. If you can get it working.

Yes, it’s set to normal. Still can’t read it anywhere outside. I really regret this purchase.

Outside is tough. I have to step in shade to read it.

I was able to fix mine. The mist recent "update" caused them all to default to dim mode. Go to your settings and check that. Worked for me!! It's back to normal!

Honestly, it’s even tough inside. It didn’t used to be like this.

I do appreciate your help though. I think I’m just going to have to live with it until I’m totally sick of it and just get an Apple Watch.
