Charge 3 screen has a white line across the screen from left to right

I just received my tracker about an hour ago. I've turned it on and synced it and I've got a solid white line across the middle of the screen! Is there any way of fixing this or is it going to have to be sent back for replacement?

A reboot didn't help...

Just recived my brand new charge 3 in the mail today. I seem to have the same problem with the white line across the screen and a dead pixel. I tried resetting it multiple times. Also checked firmware but no update seems to be available for my device. I have tried all propsed solutions with no luck. How do I go about getting a replacement? Sad to see so many people having the same issues with their brand new devices.

I also have the horizontal white line across my screen. It started with it being the only display yesterday so when I got home I rebooted it. The charge 3 gave me the smiley face with the line through it and now it is permanently there. I have rebooted again and changed clock faces but the line is there and off putting to someone with poor eyesight. Please help.

Same problem here. Has a solution been found?

Report it to fitbit through on line chat and you will receive a case
number. You need a case number to return your charge 3 to the retail store
where purchased or fitbit.

Depends where you are, in the UK we can just return it as unfit for purpose.
I returned mine to Curry’s & bought another from Argos which worked fine.

I cannot even get that much on the screen.  Just a white line.  I'm not sure how to restart/reboot it.  How do you do that?

Hello

i also have a white line across my screen.

Is is this a fault or something an update can resolve?

The white line is the update progress, restart the Fitbit and then put it
back on charge.
I let mine sit for a bit then started the update from the phone app.
My first watch wouldn’t play nicely so it was returned and exchanged for a
new one which was fine.

Hello @JenCo1965, it's good to see you around in the forums. I'm sorry to see you've experienced some trouble with your Charge 3 display.

Please check if the white line across the display is the one indicating the device needs a firmware update, as @Gran98 mentioned. However, if you continue to see this white line on the display, please try to perform a restart on your device and check if you continue to see the same on your display.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I’m having the same problem. Have had it on one day and it’s got this line going across it. Any news on how to fix it?

This worked for me from support....

Thanks for getting back. We suggest you try to do a long restart for your Fitbit Charge 3. You can follow the steps here:
1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
4. The device turns off.
5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Let us know how it goes!

It wasn’t instant. The line came back then disappeared about 45 minutes after doing these steps.

My Charge 3 has this line now too. Didn’t have it from the start, but has it now. Have looked for a way to “update the firmware” that some have suggested, but can’t seem to find anything like that. Line is annoying and I spent too much money on this thing to have a line through the middle of it.

Well, lol, the line went away! I guess I just had to tell on it! 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:
