My app has stopped recognising any activity. Last weekend everything was working fine then 2 days later my tracker is showing calories burnt after a class but on syncing to the app…no exercise registers. I have done all the recommended stuff…opening/closing/deleting apps and tracker and still nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas/advice please?

I also had my hopes up when I did the update, but later that day I did a workout that did not map to the app. They trying to force me into buying a new device, sad.

Definitely still doesn’t work. I started Fitbit to record a bike ride yesterday and I even started it on my phone app as well to be sure it would map the ride. It looked like it worked, then disappeared. I tried to manually add and it still didn’t show up. 😖 only recording walks automatically…

Despite it still enabling me to track walking, it would still say walk if it reads when I do a later run activity during the day like the certain activities on the Wii Fit.
To anyone on the Fitbit staff who reads this thread, please work on fixing this error as soon as you can.

Here is a follow-up. Another update to the Fitbit app has appeared on Google Play. If any of you find that it has corrected the errors, let this thread now.

I have purchased a Samsung Galaxy Watch and plan to transition to that but was going to keep the Fitbit due to the history of data it holds and I like the functionality of it -- but now not sure I will be able to. The only thing about buying another brand that concerns me is what if Google buys them too. FYI, I have used Fitbit and Runkeeper (now owned by Asics) for years and the two have always complemented each other quite well. I usually loaded my Fitbit activities into Runkeeper and Runkeeper had a better GPS tracker for outdoor activity.

I've had the same issue, automatically detected activities work fine however anything that I attempt to record just never shows up.
App version is 4.25.2 (110112965) and Firmware version 22.22.58.0.
I've tried reinstalling the app, repairing the Charge 2 with the phone, updating all the permissions to allow location accesses and still nothing.

I got mine to track my heart rate while exercising, and it seems like the last day or so it can’t even do that reliably. I’ve had it give me obviously wrong numbers before, but this morning I was 60 floors into a 100-floor climb before it started to register anything even remotely credible. And this evening was even worse. Last week I was at the beach with my only exercise option being the three staircases (all outdoors) at the rental house. Which worked out fine until we had a low pressure system move in and leave me stuck on the same floor for 4-5 reps at a time. The display is effectively useless in bright sunlight (and I can’t read it without my glasses on anyway). But since every calculation it does seems to hinge on heart rate, if it can’t handle that job how do you trust anything it tells you?
Mine is a refurbished unit that I got at a derp discount, so I thought that was just the price of admission, but it sounds like this is pretty common regardless. Could be time to consider a different brand or at least a different model. Because this is not sustainable.

Just updated to 4.26 on Apple but haven’t had a chance to test it. Based on the results other have gotten, I”m not optimistic. I was able to figure out that nothing other than Walk (autodetected) has registered in the app since 9/4.

Also having this issue. For the last 2-3 weeks I set my Fitbit to record a workout and it begins recording… shows on my Fitbit screen the heart rate, time etc but when I end the workout it doesn’t give me a summary on my device and when I sync to the app it isn’t logged 😞
It is however recording auto-recorded workouts such as when I walk for 20 minutes or more it is picking up and logging that fine in the app.
I hope they resolve soon. How do you get in touch with support?

wm1 stated that they managed to get through to Google.
I don't know when it will be resolved. I am giving them until the end of the year to resolve this issue as my Mom is suggesting that I try another activity band.

I was planning on getting a new Fitbit for Christmas as I have a charge2… it’s super old but has always been reliable. In two minds now. I’m starting to wonder after the app redesign and now this if they are deliberately trying to break Fitbit to move people into google pixel watches. I don’t think there’s another band that I like other than what Fitbit offer aesthetically and app feature wise so it’s very annoying
