I've bought the Charge 3 & I'm trying to set the Pool Length for swimming, I've looked at the help topics & it says to click Advanced Settings & then Swim Settings but when I click Advanced Settings in the App I don't have the Swim Settings option. The help topics also says you Can access the Swim Settings from the Excercise Screen on the Fitbit but i din't know how to find this. Can anyone help please? Many thanks

I would love to know what pool lengths the Charge 3 supports. I have a 32 foot pool and will buy this tracker if it supports this length.

The pool length setting starts at 10 & goes up to 100. You can also set it in Metres or Yards.

@JenD10 Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for taking the time to post the experience you are having with Charge 3 and the swim settings.
You need to turn on swim tracking first in the app in order for the swim settings to appear under "Advanced Settings". To do this:
- From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon.
- Under Goals, tap Exercise.
- Tap Swimming and then tap Auto-recognize.
- To change the amount of time required to record your swim, tap Swim Longer Than and choose a time.
Then, you should be able to access the pool length settings:
- From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon.
- Scroll down to Settings and tap Advanced Settings.
- Tap Swimming Settings.
- Enter the pool length and unit of measurement (meters or yards).
- To set it up on your Charge 3; open the Exercise app > Swim. Then, just swipe up from the exercise screen and tap Pool Length.
@sbradfor I hope you're doing well! Thanks for your interest in Charge 3. Yes, you can set up the length for the pool from 10 to 100 meters/yards. If it is 32 feet you could use 10 meters or 11 yards.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

@JenD10 Thanks for your reply and for sharing those details regarding your experience. Thanks for turning swim on.
Are you tracking swimming using your tracker's Exercise app or are you tracking it automatically? Please try using both options to check which one will work better for you.
If the swim settings do not appear please try logging out from the Fitbit app, rebooting your phone, and logging back in.
Hope this helps. Let me know if your swimming gets tracker!

The first time I swam with the Fitbit it recorded the swim as Elliptical Exercise ( no idea what that is lol) I've turned that setting off & have been tracking my swim by setting a goal on the Fitbit itself which is a bit annoying.
I've no idea what else to try, thanks.

I have the same problem. Cannot find pool length setting in App after advanced setting. Only choice is stride length. Cannot find pool length setting in device after swiping swim as this only leads me to timer setting for swim time and won’t let me out of that setting. Evertytime I swipe to navigate elsewhere I am taken to screen/notifications. I purchased charge 3 because I wanted to track swimming and my spO2. How do find my spO2 estimates?

Same issue. No pool length under advance setting. The length is set to 25 meters and I can't change it. Also the calorie count is wrong. I did 1 hr of hard swimming which was counter as 170 calories. Should be 500-750 calories.

Hey guys thanks for getting back @Nadav, @JenD10, and @New1234! The setting for Pool Length on Charge 3, Versa, and Ionic can be found only in the device, not in the Fitbit app. Sorry for the misunderstanding! However, if the setting is not being showed on your tracker, let's try to restart it by following these steps.
Then, on your device, open the Exercise app > Swim:
- For Charge 3—Swipe up from the exercise screen and tap Pool Length.
Additionally, there are some factors that may affect swim data:
- Stopping to rest midway across the pool
- Resting for longer than 60 seconds after completing a pool length
- Changing stroke type midway across the pool
- Swimming with a kickboard or not using your hands
- Swimming less than the minimum duration set to be auto-recognized
- The units for the pool length setting don't match the units you use for your Fitbit settings. For example if you measure length in feet and inches, and specify a pool length in meters.
Hope this info helps, I'll be around if you need further assistance!
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

This kind of misinformation should be deleted from Forum. It just creates confusion and waste of time.

Setting the pool length directly on fitbit worked for me. I will see if it works next time I swim! How will it be 'recorded' on the fitbit app since I am not able to set up the advanced setting?

I can't even find an account icon on the dashboard... It was just set up today with what I would assume is the most current software?

I did get it to set pool length to 25 meter, and I set the auto recognise to 10 minutes. After a ½ hour swim this morning with one stop at about the 20 minute mark, it did no log any time or distance. Do I have to start the counter before a swim manually?
