I am frustrated too. I got my versa yesterday so assumed it would be completely up to date. I have firmware 32.32.10.15 and have an Android 6 phone. I can see the quick repies in the app and can customise them but the reply option is never visible on the watch. I have read some articles that say you need Android 5 or above others say 7 or above! I have an LG G4 which I've discovered isn't even on the fitbit approved list! Everything else seems to work ok though. I have also read i will never be able to update this phone to Android 7!  I'm so frustrated as it was one of the features i really wanted. I've tried changing all sorts of settings on the phone but to no avail If it's an issue with Android 6 does anyone know if fitbit will roll out quick replies for these Android users? Or do you think I don't actually have the updated app?  It's a minefield. Grrr

Ypu have the most current update. Im on androud 8 and i had to mess around with permissions on the phone app, fotbit app and messenger app and enable the developer options and go in there and turn everything on. Then i removed and re added my fitbit to my phone.

Just received this from fitbit!
Thanks for the interest. The quick reply feature is currently only
available on watches paired to an Android phone running Android 7.0
(Nougat) or later. You can read more about this at (link:

Not happy as im not sure my phone will ever get the android 7 update and i
chose this smartwatch as i had read quick replies would be available for
android 5 and above! £200 a lot of money without this feature.

Thats a huge bummer. You may be able to force update you Android but its risky. Unles your a techy you could mess things up on your phone. But its possible to do your own Android update.

Apple is strict and they are are far from perfect. At my job insupport apple phones and find there are a lot of drawback. Mostly freedome of 3rd party apps to open up new features.
Also, ape is super expensive. Good luck. My Galaxy S8 has been awesome for me.

Hello everyone! As many of you have mentioned you will first need to have the Fitbit app updated, your Versa running the latest firmware available for it and finally an Android device running OS version 7 and above. If you aren't sure if you can update this you can always check with your carrier as they sometimes can update phones in their own support centers. This has been mentioned as well but you all can refer to the help article for more information about setting up and the requirements for quick replies.

Let me know how it goes!

I contacted my mobile network tonight and they said they can't upgrade my
phone. 😕

Google how to ma ually upgrade. You may be able to upgrade it manually however you have to get the androud os and use your computer. I did it before ba k in the day. However its a bit complicated and you could should only do it if the phone is yours and paid for. I did it with tablets and old phones just to try it. Sure there is plenty of videos and how tos online. Just be prepared buy a new phone first just in case you brick it.

I do own the phone but i cant afford to take the risk 😕. I will try
contacting LG re upgrade but if they say its not happening then i will just
have to wait until i can buy a new phone. Ive only had this one just over a
year.

@Karen1973 I would also be cautious about upgrading your Android version on your phone. There are even some custom mods that you could use but they do present some complexity and much risk in their implementation. It isn't impossible but it is better if your carrier releases the update.

@TheBarron Thank you for your suggestions though, I am sure they may come in handy for some members.

You may have to dig around. I have posted countless times to several posts about How i fixed it. In short it invloves enabling developer mode and giving full access to all permissions on the Fitbit app, blue tooth, messenger app and phone app on the Android OS. Possibly rebooting phone and fitbit after and then re pairing the fitbit after all that.

Not sure on that phone. Is it Android OS or do they use their own?
With the current Android OS there are App permission in the general settings however you have to drill down into sub settings to find some of the permissions.
Each app has its own permissions and access. Fitbit app needs access to the phone app and SMS for sure.
Some of these settings you have to open the app like your text messaging SMS app and from in it, go into the sub menues and assign access, same with the the phone app. Open like your making a call and then goni tk the settings. Usually a phone reboot after you make the changes is needed as well as rebooting your watch.
