Fitbit app - Food Fitbit App Deleting Food Logs Immediately

I was trying to log my food today and it will not show any food when I put an item in. It will also not show anything in the database when I scan and I know those items are in there. Please help. I have a sense 2 and an apple

My food log is not working as well. It saves for a second and then disappears from saved food log and looking up foods.

Answer: + sign is working fine. Allows you to see food options. You are able to chose food info. Problem occurs once you've chosen the food menu and press enter. It places the food item in your log, but when you try to add a second item it will erase the first item and insert the second item. Once you close the app all items entered have disappeared.


Q - Does this happen with every meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, etc) or only for specific?

Answer: yes the issue occurs regardless of meal time.

Q - Does this affect custom food or also the ones listed in the data base?

Answer: it allows you to choose from your custom foods and does the same thing as stated before.

Q - Are you using an Android device or an iOS (iPhone /iPad?

Answer: yes to Android in my case

Does anyone have recommendations on a new app, that does basically what
this one does? The last 3 months have been very frustrating. Have had my
FitBit for 12 years and am loyal, but extremely frustrated at this point.

Does this happen with every meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, etc) or only for specific? It happens with every meal.


Does this affect custom food or also the ones listed in the data base? This affects all food (database, custom, frequent, recent). It also affects calories manually added from the “Add Calories” option.


Are you using an Android device or an iOS (iPhone /iPad? iOS (iPhone)

I enter my food and the item logs correctly and then disappears.
Seems to be a similar problem which has cropped up on and off over the years and as recently as a month ago. I’ve tried all the regular remedies suggested.

Hi Juan and I'm glad it's not just me 🙂

For me personally, it is with every meal; 

I haven't tried custom foods, but it does affect food in the log (Most common entries, recent entries, etc) and when I search a food up. 

It happens with bo the plus (+) sign on the dashboard, AND when I am in the food site specifically.

I have an Android device; 

My Android is up to date; No new updates to fitbit; I did uninstall and re-install to no avail. 

It started this morning; Thursday, December 4; Yesterday it worked fine/as it should.

I know there was a new update sent out but since this afternoon all of my food logs I put in almost immediately delete themselves from my log. I’ve attempted deleting and reinstalling the app as well as restarting my phone (I’m on iOS) and nothing seems to remedy the problem. Thanks

I am using a Google Pixel phone. Everything I have tried to enter after breakfast keeps disappearing. Like if I had two items I added, only one shows up briefly and then it disappears too. I use the plus and search for food by name to add, but I tried entering off my recent and the same thing happened. Breakfast has managed to stay where it is.

Same thing has been happening to me!!!! It worked fine this morning. I noticed it around 1:30 pm. Everyone I add a new food item the others disappear. I’ve tried rebooting my phone, rebooting the app, updating the app, logging out and back in, etc. I have an IOS. It doesn’t appear to be associated with a specific meal, rather the entire thing

Glad to know this is currently an ongoing issue with users; was driving myself crazy trying to figure out if it was the app, my phone, user error. I tried logging the food under every category, and even deleting and redownloading the app. Nothing seems to be doing the trick. It seems to be counting my steps just fine, looks like it just won’t log my food.

Food not saving on the app today. Happening on my sons phone too so not a localised problem. Mac and android phones with same issue. Have restarted app and phone. No change.

I'm using Android and every food entry I make disappears when I make a second entry.  Doesn't matter which meal or where the food came from (database, custom food).  Also, after uninstalling and reinstalling the app, it added an extra 1200 calories to my energy burned on the dashboard, but elsewhere in the app, the calories burned are accurate, i.e., 1200 calories less than what the dashboard says.

I was getting a blank screen on Fitbit so I uninstalled and completely reinstalled it. Now I can't enter food and have it save. I completely entered for Breakfast, Lunch, Morning Snack and Afternoon Snack and had created a new Customer Food item. Closed app and went back in and no food logged. Tried to re-add all food and did following steps:

  • Went to Food screen
  • Went to Custom Food and added my newly created item to my my log. (Note: Custom Food is still created from earlier today.)
  • Clicked Plus (+) sign in Food and logged an item from Recent. Custom Food entry disappeared from log leaving only this recently added item. Clicked Barcode icon, scanned item and logged this item. This became my only item logged for the day.
  • Restarted my phone. Opening Fitbit app, I have no food logged.

On an Android device.

Will not keep an entry using any possible way to enter food. Just replaces the previous entry.  And the disappears if get out
