If you are still experiencing this issue, we would love to investigate further. The following would help our team review:
We appreciate the additional details.
Fitbit Update 07/16/2018: Hey everyone -- We have just released an update to the Fitbit app for iOS, version 2.53.1 which we believe resolves the issues with food logging that have been reported in this thread. Please update to 2.53.1 and let me know of the results so I can quickly communicate that to our iOS team.
Again, thank you for your continued patience as we worked to get this resolved ASAP.

Thanks everyone for your patience on this. We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been affected by this issue and have been working hard to find a fix. We are preparing to roll out an update tomorrow, July 16th to solve the problem. In the meantime, customers can use the food logging feature in the web dashboard: https://www.fitbit.com/foods/log.
Update 7/14/2018: We do realize this is a critical issue and our team continues to work on the cause and a fix. We don't provide timelines, in case something occurs and it can't be met, but we hope to have a resolution soon. Thank you again for your patience, reports, and cooperation.
Update 7/13/2018: Hi Everyone - we definitely do hear your reports and frustration on missing and strange food logs. Our engineers are still investigating and I hope to have a resolution shortly.

I just deleted the app from my iPhone X, updated the IOS to 11.4.1, and reinstalled the app. However the entries keep disappearing. It’s getting ridiculous that I have to go to the website to put in my entries.
This is is getting old quickly, as an IT Manager, I can’t believe this didn’t come up during your testing!!

Turn off and back on your notifications. That worked for me

An Apple employee wouldn’t be able to do anything for you if the issue was software related. I feel like you as well as many other adults above are being a bit ridiculous. Move along if you’d like. Bye 👋

I realise as the moderator you are the “meat in the sandwich” (incidentally a sandwich we can’t log at present 🙂 however can someone at least explain why the obvious “roll back the version” suggestion won’t work?
I’m logging offline in a notepad at present in the hope that it gets resolved soon but to be honest this is portraying Fitbit as a very amateur organisation right now.
Fingers crossed for at least an answer / statement / something more tangible than “just hang in there we’ll be with you in a minute”!

I will be so glad when this is fixed.
Trying to log food on the website is frustrating me.
I'll probably just quit logging food until this is fixed and hope I don't cheat too much.

I am also very disappointed in my versa. First problem was not recording swim. Then weather became inaccurate. Then unable to sync with my devices. Then sleep app inaccurate. Now food logging gone haywire. What’s going on? Feel like I should just chuck it in the garbage. Not happy.

I have the same problem (IOS 10). I am able to enter food but it removes the oldest food item. Help!

Boy this is a mess — food logging is largely useless on iOS. How this gets by any type of QA or testing somewhat answers itself. Users have asked for a long time for more transparency in releases... what has been changed? What has been fixed? Etc. You, Fitbit, really need to step up.

Couple things from an actual coder, not just somebody who can google. You can’t roll back an upgrade like that, that’s not a thing and there is no reverse button, it’s like asking can’t you uncrash the car. The amount of time and effort it would take to roll back and update would take longer than to fix the current problem. Number two, they have a good IT department, I don’t work there but it is a good one and for all of you who is throwing tantrums that it takes over four days to fix billions of code, anyone who can do it in four day works for NASA not an app and that’s any app. Also, responding to this post is not contacting customer service. This chain is in the community forum, you’re just complaining to the rest of us. A moderator has put them all in one chain instead of 1,000, but it’s not the same as contacting their customer service. Customer service does not monitor the community chat, so anything you put on here is not the same as contacting customer service. You’re basically getting on Facebook and complaining to your friends, that’s the equivalent of what you’re doing on this chat. This is just another version of Social discussion, this has nothing to do with their customer service. I’m beginning to think no one reads any of these responses… Because people keep posting as if they’re talking to customer service and on top of that people that wouldn’t know what code if it was in front of their face had decided they’re experts and seem to think they know how to fix the problem. If you don’t know how to code, you don’t know how to fix the problem. But if you don’t know how to fix the problem don’t make guesses, they’re bad and you sound ridiculous .

No updates since the 14th?
Some foods update on the app - others, like olive oil get switched to arugula. Website logging is working but so inconvenient.
