Hi Guys, Right now there are only a handful of modes and exercising which is very limited. Putting stuff in generic workout does not provide anywhere near accuarate results. E.g. I could be doing a home workout with pauses between reps and sets or I could be running flat out playing football/soccer .. The results should be very different. I'd like to see Football/Soccer, Squash, Tennis, Cross country. Skiing and Snow shoeing, Rock Climbing Golf and any others you could add, seriously people love choices and the more the merrier. Thanks, Keith

Hi, is it possible you could add a Norwegian food database? That way I can record the food brands and names that I'm familiar with.

Hi,
Just taken delivery of my Surge and am loving it! One thing I'd like to see is Kayaking/canoeing added as an activity on the Surge. As it is water resistant and splash proof (and you shouldn't be getting that wet!), this should be OK. I am particularly interested in the tracking opportunities offered by the repetitive arm movement - this should be easy for the Surge to recognise and would enable some really great stats - strokes per minute, strokes taken etc, and combined with the GPS function you could work out stroke efficiency, distance per stroke and maybe even give feedback on how well the stroke is done (e.g. more vertical entry v's sloppy strokes).
Could be a quick win for the developers?
Many thanks!

I am new to Fitbit and have purchased premium. I noticed that the activity report will only show manually logged activities, not ones recorded using exercise mode (side button on Charge HR). I usually use exercise mode instead of logging activities manually, so to me this is a significant gap in functionality.

It would be nice if you had the option that when your tracker recognizes you are asleep, that notifications are disabled. That way you are not awaken in the middle of the night by a text message that could have waited until morning.

Sleep tracking is great. However at the moment the data is useless as is. It would be nice to be able to see what the stats were the day prior to that sleep data.
For example, Monday I had the best sleep of the week. Why? I am not sure. But if I could see that Sunday was one of my most active days, I could tell that Monday's sleep was probably correlated! Someway for us to overlay the prior days stats to the sleep data would go a long way!

Would like the surge to vibrate alert (when in gps mode) for every mile, 1/2 mile or whatever. Not just have the voice cue option. A simple vibrate at whatever distance I choose to be alerted would be great.

When I first started using my FitBit (Flex) December 2013 through May 2014, I had the ability to track any activities I wanted, but it seems that's no longer the case. Admittedly, I slacked off for awhile and stopped using my FitBit, but I'm back now as part of my new 2015 resolutions. However, I've returned to find that all non-exercise activities have disappeared from the app! It seems that I can still search for an add them through the website, but the app is so much more convenient for me. All I see on my iPhone app now are "real" exercises (like basketball, biking, soccer, running, etc.), there are very few day-to-day things (actually, all I see is driving, gardening, and mowing the lawn). There used to be tons and tons of options that I used regularly -- like "Sitting - writing, desk work, typing", "cooking or food preparation", "general cleaning" (light, moderate, and heavy), "standing", "shopping", "carrying groceries", and more. Sports and workouts are obviously ideal for fitness, of course, but whether we like it or not, we all have days now and then where cleaning the bathroom, grocery shopping, playing with the dog, and making dinner really is all the exercise we get done. (And hey, it still burns more calories than doing nothing at all, at least, right?). I liked being able to enter a wider variety of things. It really made me feel like my calorie burn was a lot more accurate. Please bring this ability back to the mobile app!!

Hello, Wouldn't it be nice if you allow us to name the silent alarms? For example: an alarm to wake up, one to drink water, food, one to remind me of something such as an important meeting, etc... Your feedback is highly appreciated. Best regards,

I would love to have an option to set the leaderboard based on distance. When it is step based my shorter friends have an unfair advantage over me as they walk more steps per mile.

It would be a great idea to add the medical alert logo to the flex band in case of a medical emergency. Older adults today are living longer, more active lives than the generations before them. The medical alert symbol and information can be incorporated into a stylish watch or a bangle-type bracelet, among many other options.
Medical IDs give paramedics and health care providers a quick look at your medical history in an emergency. They usually include information about medical conditions, food or drug allergies, medical devices (such as a pacemaker), and medications. This data can also be in sync with your Smartphone. I posted this question on another thread, but was directed to post it here.
Is there an option to fix the tiles on the Dashboard in place?... Sometimes the tiles appear to have a mind of their own as they change location randomly when the browser window is resized or accidentally, when moving the mouse pointer over the tiles. Is there is no such option, you should consider adding it.

As a workout enthusiast I would like to view my heart rate on my Charge HR throughout my workout without having to hit the side button. I would like to see an option that can be set to "keep display on during workouts".

Having been a flex user, remembering to tell the Fitbit when I was going to bed was a hassle. I welcome the new auto-sleep mode. However one trade off I think we all have lost is the Fitbit no longer is able to calculate how long it took us to fall asleep. This makes sense because there is no way for us to tell the Fitbit when we actually get into bed. I used to love this statistic because I usually have insomnia and it can take me any where from 30 minutes to 3 hours to fall asleep, and it was nice being able to look back and see how my activity levels that day affected my time to fall asleep.
Is there any proposal to add this ability to the Fitbit Charge, Charge HR, and Surge? (I have the Surge FYI). I realize it may be hard, but even a manual button press to indicate when I get into bed. I realize I can edit this in the app, but I usually will have forgotten when I actually got into bed by the next morning when I can edit it.

It seems since the surge is already tracking steps that adding cadence as one of the tracked metrics during a run (and displayed on the activities page) would be a very nice and somewhat trivial addition.

I guess this has been submitted before, but in case it hasn't, can inactivity be tracked? I don't just mean a vibration if you've been sat down for too long, but also on the dashboard a measure to show periods of inactivity, to really give you a full picture of your day.

It would be amazing if, given the data you enter on your phone and data your fitbit collects, for your colories consumed or calories remaining to be displayed on your fitbit display. Please enable this!!

You recently made a minimum limit of 5 minutes for a manually recorded activity to be synced and show up in the dashboard. (See this post.) I understand the need to prevent accidental activities, but this is too long of a minimum.
I think the longest it should be is 2 minutes. 1 would be better, and 90 seconds could be a good compromise.
If you vote for this please add a comment with what you think the minimum time should be.

Using any Fitbit with an accelerometer (and even moreso the Surge with a GPS), it would be extremely helpful if the dashboard could make an intelligent guess at the type of activity someone is doing based on motion detected.
For example, you might be able to tell the difference between walking, running on a treadmill, running outdoors, cycling, and using an elliptical based on the combination of velocity and motions captured. Even if you can't guess with complete accuracy, you could learn over time how to associate velocity + motion with specific exercises when people specify on the dashboard or mobile app what the exercise was. Since most people will have a small number of exercises that are their personal most common, you could learn over time to make pretty accurate guesses for each user. This would make using my Fitbit much more convenient that having to go into the app every day and correct the exercise types for that day.
I note that some of Fitbit's competitors are already moving in this direction.

It would be nice if the longpress on the Charge/HR had the option for a countdown timer instead of a stopwatch timer. We could use the app to set functionality of the longpress, as well as how long of a countdown would be activated by a longpress.
At the gym, I wait 45 seconds between sets. Right now, I can longpress to start a stopwatch, and check the timer every so often until I get to 45 seconds. This is much more difficult than just longpressing one time and waiting for the band to vibrate.
If the app had the option, we could change functionality of the longpress so that a preset (in the app) timer would go off, with a vibration at the end. Again, we could change this timer countdown time simply by pressing the option in the app

The Fitbit community is creating friendships that make the challenges really fun. It would be great to have a photo sharing capability within the Challenge feature!
Love the Fitbit!!
