Regarding the Exercise Swim function on the Ionic watch and mobile app.  When "done" with a swim, the Ionic watch lists a partial summary of lap split times.  Why, however, is this data only shown on the watch?  It does not synchronize to the Android mobile app (Exercise Dashboard tile).

The swim data displayed on the mobile app is broken down into four sections: splits, calories, impact, and lengths. The "splits" section displays "calories" for each distance cue instead of "time."  Split "time" would be a much more useful metric to a swimmer than "calories."  If the watch can display this data summary, why is the same data not shown in the mobile app "splits" section?

Fitbit should have a feature where you can compare your exercises. As an example if you went on your normal run, then the next day you run it again. You then should be able to see all your stats compared to each other from both of the runs. This would help see the areas you need to improve in and what you are improving in.

When you manually add a stationary bike or elliptical exercise it does not allow you to add your distance or pace.  It is not possible for the calorie burner data to be correct if the pace or distance is unknown.

When using track exercise on the charge HR, I can categorize my workout, but again for the above and treadmill it doesn't allow the distance or pace to be logged.

I woukdluke to see this as an update to the app as it doesn't show a true picture of calories burned based on my heart rate without the pace/distance.

Since the removal of the web based dashboard it is no longer possible to create Custom Workouts or to access most of the previously available database workouts. Please make it possible in the app to create custom workouts so that users can track a wide range of activities (e.g. Badminton, Pickle Ball, Roller blading, etc)
  • Exercise

Instead of mapping the walk/hike/run route in a simple red line, color the route in accordance with the heart rate color (fat burn, cardio or peak color) at that point of the exercise. This would allow the user to get a better idea of the level of effort during the exercise.

It would be great if Fitbit added a strain or recovery score based on HRV or RHR, or workout HR recovery.  .Whoop & the Oura Ring both have it.  A body temp sensor would be great too!

Thanks!

Some days I get two exercise sessions in, maybe weight training in the morning and bicycling in the afternoon. Some days because of work - or life in general - I don’t get a workout in at all.  The exercise tile only ‘rewards’ me for number of days I’ve worked out, but I’d love to get acknowledgement for number of sessions per week!

Please add a Body Battery feature like the one on Garmin. Just license it like they do. Measuring stress an energy levels is more important than Active Minutes if you ask me. Cool to get in shape for sure, but actually staying healthy is sooo awesome.

Many of us own stationary bikes for a variety of reasons and it's excellent cardiovascular exercise. You really need to add this as an option because recommended "fixes" do not accurately record minutes, average heart rate or distance. Due to knee issues, this is the exercise recommended by my doctor and PT. There is a large community waiting for this feature on the Blaze and other products.

OK, so after my Fitbit device stated I walked over 20,000 steps in a day, I was anxiously awaiting my badge. When I did not receive it, I contacted the support team to see what was up with that and I found out some disheartening info!

When logging an activity during the time you were actually doing it, you will be overwriting any data recorded. New data will be created, and the new data does NOT go towards badges. Fitbit stated that there are different variables in activities that will alter your steps. I don’t see how. Steps are steps. They may be talking about calories burned, but that’s not the issue. When overwriting, their “formulas” not only overwrite, but give you a false number of steps taken, for better or worse due to these variables. Though, Fitbit stated that it would not create false steps.

It does.

Believing them, I started logging my activity at 3am as I did not want actual data overwritten. I wanted all my steps to go towards badges. So what do I find out?? Logging activity at 3am gave me an additional 5,000 FALSE STEPS. That needs to stop.

I purchased this device to ACCURATELY track my sleep, my steps & time put into activity and it seems you can’t log one without having other data falsified. Fitbit suggested I create a “suggestion” here and if it gets enough “likes” the developers will consider fixing this problem. So there you go. In the meantime I will be researching other products that don’t overwrite and/or create false data.

BTW, this is also a problem if you’re competing with other Fitbit users in regards to how many steps are taken over a certain period of time as clearly the data can be faked…and if there’s money involved to the winner, that’s problematic. So Fitbit, you should REALLY consider fixing this. Allow people to record the activity WITHOUT it affecting the number of steps actually taken. Simple.

It is beyond frustrating that there isn't one clock face that's inclusive of fitbit's visually diverse glasses wearing client base. Please make just one clock face that shows one giant fonted statistic at a time without the time on it (heart only etc) allowing us to cycle though. 24 clock faces, and not one can be read by people who need readers?

For running it is possible to auto detect if you stop. It would be great to have the same for walking.

I have had a fitbit flex, and recently upgraded to a fitbit charge HR because it is more secure for wearing during roller derby.

However, even with the Plum XL, it barely fits on my upper arm, since it is too thick to fit under my wrist guard, and is pointless to wear over my wrist guard. My Flex wouldn't fit over my wrist guard, The XL barely fits.
You might not know that the Women's Flat Track Derby Association WFTDA has over 369 teams, and 76 up and coming teams. Many of us use fitness trackers of various variety. There are also men's flat track teams, and also banked track version of the sport. My team has over 40 women comprising 2 teams, and we are a small city in Muncie Indiana, other teams are much larger. This doesn't even count the international teams.

What we need is a very slim version of the tracker, at least 1/2 the height of the Charge, or less if possible, so that it will fit under our wrist guards, so it can still track heart rate, but is protected in case we would fall. When it's on your upper arm, if you get hit, it can go flying. With my arms, the Plum Xl will fit on the last notch, not securely... Maybe you can just make an extender strap for all models so women with beefy arms can wear it on our upper arms.  This website has a version of the wrist guard that I use, and most of them are very similiar... it would be nice if you made a tracker that maybe was a wrist guard, removeable fitbit electronics to be charged or washed, and able to buy replacement parts fairly cheap, as you go through a set of guards once a year. http://www.6pm.com/triple-eight-rd-wristsaver-black?zhlfid=139&kpid=27065384  But, you know something that could integrate into a helmet would be nice too. But honestly, thin, flexible, and with a long enough strap to wear on upper arm, ankle, or under/over the wrist guard would be perfect. Honestly something as thin as a piece of gum would be great.

Roller derby should be on the exercises as well.

In the beginning of the week I would like to get suggestions about what the goal should be for this week based on how I performed last week. For example if my goal is 10 000 steps and my average is 12 000, suggest that it should be increased and vice versa.

This could maybe be a section in the weekly summary email or a notification.

Two of my main workouts are weight lifting and ellipticalling, neither of which are very well tracked with the Fitbit Versa. It would be great if the weights feature could track reps and log weight, not just heart rate. Automatic detection too.

And for ellipticalling, I've just been settling with using the generic workout type, which just tracks heart rate. I can't even log distance and steps afterwards.

Also, I've had some trouble with the automatic screen on, as sometimes when I lift the watch up, the screen doesn't light up. So making that more sensitive would be appreciated.

Would love to be able to hear audio cues while tracking a run on my Blaze. To date cues display only summary data on the watch while no audio is available. I run with headphones and I'm used to other trackers that allow audio cues while listening to music.

Indoor Rowing Machine requests are all over the forum & yet, only certain devices have it. If it's available for SOME, it should be available on ALL. The Charge 5 is a newer model & is still lacking this option. The math is already done, so PLEASE share it with all devices.

It was suggested per a FitBit team member to post this in the community discussion for the product development team.  Here is my original request:

I am a recent new customer to FitBit. I previously used another fitness tracker and when my corporation informed me their wellness program partnership with FitBit, I purchased one of your trackers. I have been getting used to your product and one thing that I have noticed that separates your product from other trackers I have used is the wide variety of exercises that are acknowledged in the app's fitness tracker exercise log. Unfortunately, two very common activities which constitute about eighty percent of my workouts are not options. These activities are pole dancing fitness and aerial acrobatics.  I would also like to suggest adding the feature to categorize each workout's intensity for a more accurate record. There are a huge number of your customers that participate in these very common forms of exercise activities. The pole and aerial community are very fitness savvy individuals that enjoy tracking their fitness activities and would like to have the ability to utilize your product more accurately to reflect the activities they enjoy doing for fitness. I hope you will consider adding these options to your tracking application to encompass a continuously growing community of fitness enthusiasts that have seemingly been left out of the mainstream recognition for fitness activities.

Thank you!

UPDATE 3/24/2017: Fitbit has enabled the ability to create your own activities in the app.  Check out my blog for a detailed how to picture tutorial: http://www.poleharmony.com/2017/03/fitbit-health-activity-index-and-fitbit.html

The recent update added the number of days exercised during a given week but dropped the cumulative number of hours and minutes exercised during the week. Can you add the running total of hours and minutes exercised back to the bar at the beginning of each week as I find that more useful.

Hello Fitbit Community!

With 2018 finished & 2019 starting. I wanted to create an exercise goal for 2019 by comparing how many days of exercise I had for 2018. I can view "days of exercise" by week in the android App. Is there a way we can view totals by month and year as well (not just past 30 days)? I do not currently see this feature available in dashboard.

EX: 2018: 100 "Exercise Days"

-January 2018: 20 "exercise days"

-December 2018: 10 "exercise days"

2019 Goals: 150 "Exercise Days"

-January 2019: 25 "exercise days"

-December 2019: 15 "exercise days"

Currently wearing Ionic

Thanks!
