Many companies have lights or bracelet sets that when you touch it let's your other person know your thinking of them. They use a app. I thought if fitbit did this it would be a great. Maybe adding would have people that want that and fitbit get it. And make those that have fitbit happy. I have a versa 3. Diff colors for diff people so many people

You replied to my tweet above asking me to (re)submit my idea here.
Include context with Friend Requests we receive. Fitbit shares a lot of private data I don't want available outside my *actual* friend network, but I also am not completely closed off to new friends I don't know who migh inspire me.
Add a Profile link? a User name? a LAST name? a City? a Twitter handle? Anything. Maybe two things. Throw us a bone. Help us know if they are people we know, or people from a group, or stalkers we should avoid.
thanks.

Team fitbit, Surely you can fix it so we can remove more than one person at a time from friends list. allow check box beside the names and click one button get rid of all of them. The way it is now is really so old fashioned. I have been user since 2010 and have probably 400 non active users that I really do not care for being there anymore and it is way to time consuming doing them one at a time. Thanks

I would like to see the ability to send a message to all/select friends at once. Instead of having to message them one at a time. Like if I am going to be not able to get my steps because say spending the day traveling in a car. Just want to be able to send a message to multiple friends at once instead of having to do it one at a time.

I received a friend request from a user with a suspicious link in her profile. The profile referred to meeting sexy people with a Russian link. I recognize this, because security is my job. Some people might not be savvy enough to recognize this. There should be a way to have these users banned to prevent the spread of malware.

I have numerous friends. Some that i truly know in life and others I acquire because I love the competition. I would like to group my friends so I can see how i rank with those I really know versus my FB acquaintances. I might be able to create a family group, co-worker group, long time friends group, etc. With how it works now I have to sort through an entire laundry list of friends to see where each of all my real life friends rank. Now you state you created closed groups. But this is not what i want. I don't want people know how i am classifying them. This is strictly for my purposes only. I don't want to add them and then watch them opt out. It's not for them, it's for me.

App Suggestion
Can you add a feature so you can have Real-Time Tracking of a friend or family member .... have two options ... One where you can toggle between their dashboard and yours for real-time views and another where you can add their #’s to your dashboard so they are side by side for competing and motivating each other, again, in real-time ... I think it would be really cool options to have available and increase usage. Compete, Motivate, Inspire, Challenge.

I love the friendly competition of Fitbit. What would make it even more interesting is if I was aware of when a Friend is on the move -- it might make the difference between cracking open a cold one and getting outside for a brisk walk!
This could be implemented on the Friend dashboard. I envision a small virtual LED to the right of the name.
Unlit = Inactive (X < 100 steps/10 minutes)
Yellow = Somewhat Active (100 < X < 500 steps)
Green = Active (> 500 steps)
Use whatever numbers and colors make the most sense. You could even also change the background color of the Friend's row rather than use virtual LEDs. The point is, let me know if my friend is about to make a move on me.

It would be nice to be able to add more than one admin person to a group. 🙂

Once a friend is added from my contacts, for s lot of them their last name never shows or is one initial. I have 3000 contacts, and now 29 Fitbit friends. I have no clue which Ben is "Ben" or Charlie is "Charlie". Can you add last names for friends we added from contacts? Thanks!

Instead of "taunt", I wish you could "motivate" or "encourage" friends.

I have friends on my app from various places for example work, Slimming World, Facebook groups. It's not always easy to tell who is who via the email address, so I would love to be able to create contact groups so that when I start a challenge I can easily click on "work colleagues" for example. So I'm not worry about inviting somebody by accident.

I would love to have an option to set the leaderboard based on distance. When it is step based my shorter friends have an unfair advantage over me as they walk more steps per mile.

In the movie Trolls - they wore a device that went off now and then alerting the trolls it was hug time. I think a feature that alerts me when a friends device is near mine to hug would be awesome. Even random times... Just want to spread a little more love in the world.

This would be a great tool for people who are training for races, 5Ks, Half Marathons and Marathons. I was an avid user of Run Keeper and that was great for me and my friends/family because we would be able to see and track the ran, how far they went and the time in which it was completed. This would be a huge motivator! If you are judging based on steps a waitress my go to work then run 1 mile afterwards and hits 15,000 steps when a desk job runs 5 miles after work and only hits 10000 steps. For people who are training for races its more important to compare your distance and time rather than your steps.

Since some people tend to workout or run in groups, it would be nice if you can tag multiple people in a single workout so they all get credit for the activity. All activity data would combine with the steps counted by their own individual tracker.

You know what woukd be a great addition to your firbit app...
The ability to cheer everyone all at one time. Also the ability to group your friends accordingly. Such as family, Co-workers, challenge teams, and runners and walkers.
It would also be nice if we could message everyone at the same time as well. Once a week or so I try to message all of my friends. I like to send them an encouraging message. The more groups I belong to, the larger my friends list grows.
Everyday without fail everyone in my friends lists gets a cheer from me. Every little bit helps when you are trying to meet a specific goal.
It is quite time consuming to idividually message and or cheer each one.

I would love to see a Fitbit Customer Loyalty Scheme. I purchased my Fitbit Ultra as I need to monitor and pace my exercise for medical reasons as, I had polio as a child and must not over exercise as I don’t recover as fast as most people. Having owned and used my Fitbit Ultra every day for 4 years and, raving about my Fitbit Ultra to almost everyone I have met, I know that my praise of the Ultra has resulted in loads of goodwill and new sales in my family, friends and associates. However, my poor old Ultra is almost on its last legs and has now been superseded by more fancy Fitbits that do much more like display phone calls, have GPS and measure heart rates, etc. Now, when I show people my Ultra, I feel a little embarrassed as its a bit tatty and not a great advert for the Fitbit range, although it does show its functional, robust, well engineered and great value for money. I love my Fitbit and I would love Fitbit to recognise customer loyalty and offer ALL long-term users a discounted upgrade to better technology and functions.

I strongly believe that a webpage or link from the Fitbit App should be created for the purpose of comparing weekly stats with the general public. I do enjoy receiving my weekly progress reports, but who else sees it? Nobody. It's a shame to work extremely hard some weeks and there's nobody to share the data with.
An idea I have is to have the ability to check stats from one's town, city, province, state or country. Simply click on the "Stats" link on the app. Then either select your country or type it in. More detailed entries can be entered in to narrow down the area. Every week it would update so not the same person would ever remain at the number one position.
Your stats would only be posted if you agreed of course, and minimal info would be posted. Just the username, profile pic and hometown.
This is a way to compete in the big leagues. Instead of competing with just your friends and family, you can start competing with the rest of your country, and the world.
For your consideration.

Would be great to see "Active minutes" OR "Recent exercise" on dashboard for more motivation between friends. Could this be added as a tile on the dashboard showing who is number one just like steps? Could there be challenges added to the app like the step challenges currently available?
Just a suggestion. Thank You!

Can you add a search function to find friends who have a certain average daily step count and are interested in challenges? Perhaps allow users to check boxes if they want to be searchable by other fitbit users and if they are interested in challenges. Then have the list of these fitbit users divided into average weekly step count ranges: 0-5,000 steps/day 5,001-10,000 steps/day 10,001-15,000 steps/day etc. That way those who want to do competitions can find people who are similar/higher in steps and can be better challenged in the competitions.

I think the leaderboard for your steps should be re calculated everyday. I think it would be a bit more competitive. For example it might be hard for me to beat my friend that averages 12,000+ steps a day over 7 days, but one day out of the week I just might, which would also push him/her to do more that day as well to stay on top.
Also these ideas should be in a forum style it would be much easier to find and vote for your idea then having to page through a ton of pages, which will cut down on duplicatae ideas, and allow more votes on the same idea.

As the Admin for a large community group, I would find it helpful to be able to block individuals who violate posting guidelines. It is not even possible to flag or report the posts within the activity groups. Admins have the ability to delete members only, but there is no way to prevent them from rejoining a group over and over. You can't even message people to ask them to stop spamming, unless you send it within the confines of a friend request. I certainly don't want to friend request someone I am trying to get rid of!
I would love to see a solution to this problem!

I realise this is a fledgling Community System and I expect what I will post now will be addressed.
In the Old Community I could see all of 27 Groups and when they were last accessed. This is vital because behind this I get no emails from the activity of the Groups in the Daily Digest.
Also, I can see my Groups from my Profile but I have to access all 27 again to see when the last post was made to a Group.
Finally, when will the Group search be available ?

It would be really cool to get notifications when friends either complete their daily step goal or complete a workout for the day. This is a feature of the apple watch, which I chose the versa over this for many reasons, but have always liked the idea of that feature!

I just joined the large group that fitbit recommended for the new year and it is just out of control how fast the emails are piling up. I went away from my computer for 5 minutes and 60 messages piled up! I changed my settings to daily digest, but I am still getting many posts per minute. Clearly this system is not designed for so many thousands of people to be in one group so I hope that the default is something more reasonable so when my parents join they won't be overwhelmed.

I have tried to upload a profile picture and background picture for my fitbit community profile but it doesn't work. I have tried chrome and firefox on windows and I have tried android as well. In android, it won't even show me the pic, it simply does nothing. On windows in both browsers it behaves the same. It allows me to choose the file but nil.
